whats the difference, and in your opinion which is better?
I prefer LCD because of the sharper picture
but Plasma's better at hiding visual artefacts
Visual artifacts?
And which would last longer?
LCD would last longer
Artefacting occurs on badly upscaled images or crappy signals
If you can handle the footprint and know how to calibrate them, CRT's are still best in price/inch, contrast, refresh rate, and size (you can get them HUGE).
And if you're looking at burn-in....it's not really a factor anymore for plasmas.
CRT's are usually huge and fugly though.
A nice 40" LCD looks very nice :3
CRTs all the way
Who needs higher defanitions
You just need a strong table to put it on (and a forklift to move it)
i have a 40' CRT is my basement that is like 400 lbs. I always joke that we had to build the house around the TV cause its so frickin big.
Whachu guys talkin' bout?
Our 65" has WHEELS....:O
65" CRT.
jeeeeez thats probably heavier than everything in my house combined.
I've always found LCDs to leave a massive white border around moving images on the screen. I know this has something to do with the "light turning on/off speed" and so it depends on the model etc.
But since I have cable in my house the signal is far from impressive anyway.

LOL anvil
Lets hope that its on the ground floor (or basement)
If you hear a creak RUN LIKE SMEG
Lol...3 people can lift it...>_>
I told my dad to get a projector....but w/e.

Never get a projector if your gonna use it a lot the bulbs cost a lot
But I gots me a rear projection tv dirt cheap (50" for £400 a few mounths back) I tend to use it if some mates come round (not for wii thow)
But my Pc moniter gets used for solo gamein (im close to it so its nice)

Or LSD that is ment to be dull
*stairs at a dot on the wall*
thanks guys, i'll do some more research on it.
DLP. That's the way to go as far as I'm concerned.
If you are a casual viewer and can't tell the difference between 720 and 1080 (like 99.9% of all owners), DLP is a GREAT deal. The viewing angle is the only drawback really. You pretty much can't go wider than 4 oclock or 8 oclock.
The prices are great as well.
