It's not quite as good as the announcement of
Wii hard drive but it is a step in the right direction. Nintendo's Wii Ware system will allow for payed downloadable content. Even though many people hate the idea of being nickel and dime'd to death at least it shows that Nintendo's showing us that downloads for full Wii games is a possibility. Perhaps this is Nintendo's way of testing the waters to see if people truly want to have downloads available. Something that is painfully lacking from the Wii version of
Guitar Hero III.
Mojipittan will be the first Wii Ware game to support the downloads which will include extra stages and items. Of course these could all be included right off the bat but why do that if you can make a little extra money by charging a few extra dollars for them. It's only a matter of time before more Wii Ware and hopefully Wii disc games support this as well.

so your saying theres a chance to downoad ENTIRE games? like Sony did with Warhawk? if so, then we'd DEFINATELY need a harddrive.
No no, just extras, sorry. The hard drive isn't nearly large enough for an entire (non Wii Ware) game.
Yeah, nothing spesh will come from this if Nintendo choose to non pursue the HDD idea... in which case I say: F*** YOU NINTENDO! Do it.
Nice find Kindrik, very bright looking future for Wii Downloads?
It's a positive that this is happening, but the first game to utilize this is a Word puzzle...Hopefully it'll be used for FFCC too.
what does it take for nintendo to realize that GAMERS (note I say gamers, not hard core gamers. by this I mean "those who have, do, and will always love video games") need a walk-in freezer, not a mini-fridge?...
true that, but who knows, like he said, maybe this will be a hint for them to go for a HDD.
I will boycott ANY game that comes out on disc and simultaneously has downloadable "extra" content for more money.
That is the mother of all rips offs.

Most people who pay for them on the 360 don't seem to think so. They think it adds ven more replay value to the game. Developers may need to push a title out at a certain time so they give a god finish product and later they will offer extra content, some of which has even come free. There rumors that MP3 would have DLC and user vouchers would be a great way to purchase them.
Agreed, i like Downloadable content, why not just add a few extra levels later, even if you have to pay 5 bucks, in reality, how is it any different then buying an expansion pack for a game, just over the internet instead of getting an actual disk.
People do it all the time on the 360, we all always say how much more we wish the Wii's online expereince was as easy as the 360's, maybe this is one way that can be achieved

Absolutely, because the 60 songs are definitly not enough for the poor souls who bought Guitar Hero ten days ago. Don't get me wrong, I've played the entire set a few timese over, and would love to see downloadable songs ( Heavy, by Collective Soul please), but that is a bit of an overstatement when it hasn't even been on shelves for two weeks yet.
Considering that the other versions on the market (minus PS2 if I'm not mistaken) have this feature and it's just the fact that Wii can't offer the same experience the same game has on the PS3 or 360. It's really nothing huge, but many people may have been turned off by it when considering which version of the game to buy.

ya, you might not be bored of them yet, but weve all played guitar hero, and unless there is something extremely different about this one then the older ones, you KNOW that your gonna want new songs, and if i owned a 360, i would for sure buy that version instead just for the downloadable tracks.

What XBOX 360 game came out with simultaneous extra downloadable content (that you had to pay extra for) on the release day of the actual game??
Simultaneously with pay, no.,but i do know there were some games that released content for free at the same time. My mistake.
Nintendo is obviously avoiding the HDD for a reason. The same reason you can't boot games from an SD card: they don't want people loading any old software on the Wii.
Of course, but I'm sure they'd be able to easily come up with a fix for such a problem. Make it so that the system would only read certain file types off of the hard drive/SD card.
