Okay. Two months later and I have the damned game to put it bluntly I'll use the following words:
I freakin' love it.
It will be hard for Galaxy to beat this in my gaming opinion.
I am roughly 2 hours in and have just landed on Bryyo and am trying to take it as slow as possible. So far I've noticed a few things.
1) Expansions are insanely easy to find. I'm hoping they get harder to find later in the game.
2) Noticeable improvement in visuals that hit me straight away. Granted not next gen quality but good enough to make my eyes incredibly happy.
3) Ridley is awesome. All hail Space Pirate General, Ridley.
Also, shooting Space Pirates is fun.
I didn't even get closed to beating the game, but I know I got every expansion onto whereever I stopped playing.

Hmm that reminds me, i haven't even played MP3 since I bought my components. maybe i'll give the game another re-run

Keep hoping. It's far too simple.
I don't think I'd be able to put either Galaxy or Metroid above the other. They'll be on an equal scale to me.

Currently exploring the Fiery Docks of Bryyo... and am LOVING the environments, can't wait to see the rest of them.
Enemies seem as easy as the other Prime games.
I really should beat this game... I think it's great, but after a few days of playing ONLY MP3, it started getting super repetitive for me... maybe I should go back to it and just beat it, screw being OCD and insisting on beating it at 100%, ya know?

I'm on Bryyo now as well, just got through the first kind of area and unlocked access to the other landing spots, I'm loving it too and agree that Galaxy will have to be pretty good to beat it!!! And I'm getting a bit more used to the controls now

LMX approves of MP3, glad that you're finally enjoying the game. I think Galaxy and MP3 will be equal for me as well.

Just kicked Ghor's ass back to yesterday for smashing my ship up. The Plasma Beam is very cool in this game, then again what isn't? Now hunting for something for my ship I believe.
Ah the upgrade for you to use your ship's guns on command, I presume right? good old Metroid backtracking
