I swear this update is going to take 3 hours. Usually they only take like 1-2 minutes. Is this because everyone on SMG is also updating their consoles right now at the same time?
Mine took 3 seconds litterly. If that happens just turn off the console.
Why would you update it? I mean mines updated to the latest.

I hear this 3 hour talk from different people and I find it crazy. I feel sympathy, because it shouldn't take that long at all. I can see a regular update taking 5-10 minutes with basic DSL, but with a number like 3 hours, I have to imagine there's some compatibility issue between your Wii and your router, or maybe your Internet Service Provider is timing out.

yea it took my wii about 3-5 seconds. i think i blinked once or twice and it was done
I don't remember how long the update took me but I'd say less than 5 seconds as well. Something sounds terrible wrong here. I think gft is right about the conflict.
God i haven't turned on my wii in about 2 weeks, guess i should download that update today huh.
There was an update on the Mario Galaxy disc (I was offline at the time), but it took a few seconds (5-10).

No--those who got SMG and still needed to update would have updated from their discs--the update is loaded on the disc, thus not causing any sort of online traffic
The updates come straight from the disc
And I wonder why yours would be so slow then?
