When I was in New York in August all it did was rain. Rain, rain, rain. What a depressing vacation. In new York, when it rains it is the most depressing thing ever. No other city could be as miserable as NYC in bad weather. But in good weather, that city is just on fire (okay fine, so one of the five days was hot)
thing is with NYC- its always hot because of all the movement and energy around. its an extremely busy city (the city that never sleeps) so with all the activity, you more than likely never need a jacket when its 20 below....worst is the subway systems. youd figure in the winter it would be a relief but no! its just as bad as it is in the summer. too much heat!
i live out on long island which is about 40 miles east of manhatten. this is kind of like "suburbia" and a little country-ish. when it rains here, it POURS! its also 10 degrees cooler out here due to all the water (we're litterally an island) so its guarenteed to be miserable

yeah. we had rain here, too. there was a terrible downpour a few days ago, so that's probly what you've got now. later that night, my friend and i got pretty drunk, got a phone call from another friend, and then we all met outside to play in the puddles and mud ^^
<3 rain. especially getting caught in it without a hood/umbrella. its so peaceful and relaxing. there was a point in time where i would put a beach chair outside in our backyard and just lay out in it until my parents yelled at me -_-
