i really liked when i first saw it, but like the first it was just ppl fighting, Brawl's allow's more ppl to be seen in whole.
Melee had Mario shooting fireballs, Link Down A on Bowser, while bowser is shooting fire.. i think
and all the action was why you could only see the faces of the otehr characters. i was neat, but i'd rather have what Brawl has now.
Looks lazy... me no likey.
Better than Melee's. And maybe a touch worse than Smash 64's.
Um....its kinda not really exciting, but not bad, its ho-hum I guess.
It's good, but it's not great. All that really matters is how well it turns out
this has been the official box art for sometime now. It's been on Nintendo's Press Site for Brawl for almost 5 months or so...
the only thing new is the Wi-Fi Logo and the rating.
i think its an awesome box art. The perfect box art for such an awesome game.
And you can't forget the addition of Peach on the cover or M will smite you d:
Well this answers the question regarding (some of?) the starters, right? PT is a starter?
Interesting thought, I don't think he is that would definaletly mean another new pokemon rep to unlock because if Meta Knight's a starter, that's where unlockable King Dedede comes in.
hm...there are 11 characters on there, which is kind of an odd number...either there's another starting character that wasn't put on the boxart, or one of these isn't a starter. i find it hard to believe that they'd have uneven rows to start out with...
and WHERE is zelda? D: she's been completely left out of everything, and its starting to annoy me.
Zelda was featured in today's Dojo update, but she still has nothing under her character profile D:

peach was there the whole time
i figured out y its controversal. the boxart is simple but has all of them posing for the most part which makes it really cool, only nintendo could get away with doing something like that. and the reason y pikachu looks soft and fuzzy etc., is because he is soft and fuzzy but we all know underneath that is a low tier character.
Wait... WHY does this make it "controversial?"

Agreed with first statement, as well as LZ's statement that Zelda should be involved. 11 is a very odd number, and if Peach gets a spot on the box art, there should definitely be room for Zelda as well. If the Mario games have Mario titles and the supporting character is mentioned, then why shouldn't the namesake of the Zelda series be on there, in addition to the other main character in the series?

Yet the Brawl box art is far more artistic (and more appealing) than Melee's. It seems to reflect how the game is designed, which is why I think that this art is perfect for this game. Similar to 64's where it has the comic-book-style with the 'POW!' effects and whatnot. Whereas Melee partnered up to it's boxart wasn't, really, as much.
Brawl is very much going back to its Smash 64 roots. Which has positive and negative results.
pikachu looks soft and fuzzy etc., is because he is soft and fuzzy but we all know underneath that is a low tier character.
only b/c it was nerfed in melee. pikachu FTW!

i noticed that too. the entrances and stuff. what negatives do you mean?
Its just kind of mediocre to me.
I like the boxart. It just looks so dynamic. I also like the effect of the light in the background. Link's looking over his shoulder like something is coming from it. Meanwhile, Pit and Metaknight are flying towards us like they're running from it.
It makes you ask "What is the light? What are they running from, and why do some of them not act as panicked?"
......
Sorry. Bit of a thinker's moment.
you never know the box art way by an inunendo to the Adventure mode storyline.
