Sometimes there are dependencies which do not allow an application to run from a drive other than the system drive in windows. (C:\Program Files, Crappy, I know). Additionally, running from an external drive will be SLOOOOOOOOOOOWW for a game, I'd recommend reworking this setup if you could.

no its not my laptop borrowing it to play game.

thanks for the post tho.

Perhaps someone else here will be able to help, though. Just I know about some software having to be installed on the system drive.

Hmm. Well, you should have tried installing to system drive. But I have never had problems with games on an other drive than C:\. For instance I have a D:\ and I keep all the games there.
Well looks like you will have to install on local drive but if you want your saved data you can just save the game info to you external hdd when your done playing on that laptop so that if you want to install and play it on another pc you can just import the game data.
i don't have any space on the laptop
Then you are out of luck. AoE3 requires the C drive to hold "temporary" files from the game (saves, options, etc)
You need to install it on the main system.
kk them ill have 2 wait to Christmas for a new comp(quad core) that's right lolToungue
Or unintall things that are not needed/move them to the externalHDD?
Good idea but the drive is mine and the laptop isn't so...
