Yeah I spent 2k on a pc a year ago and it can only play most games coming out now on medium settings. Still a few I can play on high though.
HL2 will run on an old Athlon with 256mb ram and a GeForce 3 Graphics Card

You want a laptop that has graphics either by NVIDIA or ATi

but you can't afford it, so idk Sad

No?

Well...budget might have to increase slightly, I mean I don't want a powerful one just something that could handle ut04.

I know I could easily get a processor and ram to do it but I am unsure of the graphics card lingo.

A friend over on another forum was helping me out abit but nothing..

Ohh..yeahh...that would be...excellent?_?

If I could build you something for 350 i would, but the only time its cheaper to build systems is when you get into the higher end systems and want to do more customization then dell or alienware will give you. That and i still have no idea how 350(don't have the symbol) translates into dollars.
£350 is roughly $700 but of cause there is price differences for example you might buy a prebuilt laptop for 500$ when in England it would be £400 which is roughly 800$.
Sorry for the double post but I needed this to be bumped, I have very limited time to buy a laptop that can handle UT04 now and am having not much look due to my Un-Tech mind however my budget is now £430-450 so that gives me more room for 2GB RAM and the such.

Has anyone seen of a good laptop in this price range?

My current Specs are;

15.4" widescreen TFT
1024mb DDRII 533 RAM
Intel 940GML + ICH7-5 with up to 124mb shared memory
Azalia 7.1
60GB S-ATA HDD
DVD+/-RW

(Thank god for those stickers)

I found a fujitsu siemens that is interesting and it will fit into my budget fine;

Processor Type Core Duo T2080
2048 MB
DDR 2
120 Gb
Optical Drives Super Multi Double Layer S
creen Size/Type 15.4" WXGA BrightView
ATI Radion Xpress 200 M
UP TO 256 MB Type AC 97 COMPLIANT CODEC
56.6kbps
Wireless Enabled YES
2GB RAM

------------------------
Sony NR10ES is just over my budget however I could pay towards to meet the price but is it worth the extra £30?

Intel Pentium Dual Core T2310 Processor
(1.46 GHZ, 533 MHz FSB, 2 MB Cache)
Genuine Windows Vista ® Home Premium
2 GB Memory
160 GB Hard Drive
15.4" WXGA - X Black Widescreen Display
DVD ReWriter MultiDrive
MOBILE INTEL GMA X3100 Graphics Card
Wireless Enabled
Dark Silver Colour

-----------------

What I need to handle is;

Pentium III 1 GHz processor, 128 MB RAM, DirectX 9.0b or OpenGL, 32 MB video card, 5.5 GB HDD
Either of the last two sound fine, but I'd be more inclined to go for the 200M graphics as opposed to Intel, but you'd best look for benchmarks

Complicated to find in laptops for these prices without custom build so thats why I was particularly interested in these, both weren't the intel UMA shared 128mb.
