Mass Effect First Impression [about 2 hrs into gameplay] AWESOME. Some tad bit problems but they are so tolerable that you wouldnt even care.
not sure if you guys have seen this yet, but here's an apology from a game reviewer who gave mass effect a bad review.
the cliffnote version: he had a terrible experience playing it because he forgot to assign talent points to himself and his characters. he also blames the lack of in-game tutorials for this. umm, that's what instruction booklets are for.
i dont get it. how the hell do you get that far and not realize theres something wrong/ missing? i think he mentioned he did distribute the talent points at first, but then just forgot to later on. he also admitted to only playing 8 hours before writing his review.

side note: i just finished it the other day and i gotta say, the last planet you visit is just epic. minty had messaged me telling me how difficult the decisions he had to make were, but i didnt feel any sort of pressure until the last final few scenes. incredible game. i need to play through this again, but i also need a break from it, so im finally starting on HL2 and the game def. starts moving along after you get the gravity gun.
My god...I finished this game yesterday and man. What difficult decisions you have to make! This is definitely an AMAZING game. I want to keep playing but I need to take a break, I'm playing HL2 and greaser's right. That game really does pick up after you get the gravity gun (no pun intended
).

REPLAY IT!
You can start fresh or start with YOUR PRIOR SKILLS from the last game! Im like a level 52 soldier! But besides that, now that my skill set is up, I did missions that I missed and made choices I couldnt make before in the first run through. To make the best or worst decisions you have to play at least 2 run throughs or have that Charm/Intimidate really really high.
BEST GAME OF 2007 hands down.

I don't think it can be done...there aren't any charm or intimidate options in those part of the conversations are there?

but i agree. by far, the best game i've played all year. <3 sniper rifle. took out an entire Geth encampment with it. now that i've got the 150 kills with the...shotgun i think it was and the sniper, im workin on the assault rifle.
have any of you run into the cows yet? in particular, the shifty looking cow? i was like "wtf, dude!" and shot him in the leg...didnt gimme back my credits though. i cried, laughing so hard.
one flaw - i couldnt seem to make Shepard whack people when i wanted him to at the Feros base...pretty much just shot the person in the neck, making the count go down to 15. then stupid Garris shot another one ): am i missing a button or something to do the melee damage on command?
you have to be pretty much up against them and just tap the shoot trigger.
i tried T_T instead i shot the dude...and i was running into him for a good 30 secs...
lol. what weapon were you holding? maybe you cant really do melees as well with short ranged weapons. switch to a sniper or assault rifle.
i was using the pistol...its the only one i havent gotten 150 kills with yet, cause im stupid XD
side note, i <3 the sniper rifle. took the entire 3rd geth encampment out with it (the one where the ship hovers and drops em out) ^^;
Just a few questions,
How long has it taken you guys to complete it?
Is the game too comlicated that I couldn't get into it?
I don't own many RPGs so im considering buying this sometime soon, any other info about the game would be nice aswell.
