when others choose to turn a blind eye to a consoles issues, then I find that to be unfair to everyone and dishonest.
Only issues I myself have with Wii are that there's very few amazing games out for it, and the lack of a hard drive. Aside from that, I'm perfectly happy with it so there aren't many issues to be blind to.
Right back at you. You get quite defensive/biased for Sony. You constantly attack the Wii too.
If you want to equate honesty with bias or defensiveness then that's ok, but I'd like you to find where I've been dishonest on any of the systems.
Let's also remember that I'm the one who told members not to buy a PS3 till the price dropped and better games came out. I won't call you biased or dishonest because I don't believe you have been. You've just chosen to change your mind on things, and that's something understandable. I've done my best to be consistent though and when others choose to turn a blind eye to a consoles issues, then I find that to be unfair to everyone and dishonest.
Congrats to Sony for these past two weeks in Japan, now give us what we want and release better games and let's see another price drop in the next couple of months.
-------------------------something else
You constantly attack the Wii too.
Today is the 1 year anniversary of being at Gamestop at 3:15am and getting my Nintendo Wii. I also spent party of my thanksgiving playing Mario Galaxy with my family, so you might wanna try beating a different drum.
Also, if complaining about bad games as filler until we get good games like Metroid Prime 3 or Super Mario Galaxy is bias or defensive, then I think you'll find many other Wii owners feel the same way and the opinion is much more majority then a biased minority.
Look, you're the only person here who has given the PS3 it's fair rights, and I don't plan on attacking that, given the terrific coverage you give to the PS3, and do keep a great deal of fanboyism in check.
I was just quoting the effect of how you will be bored with the Wii after SMG, when, in all fairness, after Uncharted and R&C, the same may be. But hey, that's games! In dry periods, I have gone months without touching any gaming consoles, and it's been that way for a long time.
Also, the Wii undoubtedly had a real shortage of quality games up until the mid summer, but that has seemed to have changed.

Almost, but things are looking up.
Japan seems to be the exception, not the rule, but overall the gap is closing.
It's always kind of funny to see how people react to articles like this.
Let me state again, as it says in the source article...This has been a 2 week occurence in Japan. When people start pulling out sales numbers for the world and basically tell everyone that it doesn't matter because it's only Japan I smile. People get way too defensive, and it starts to show how biased they can be.
That's a fact, not a bias. If you look closer, I was responding to questions as to how this compares to the rest of the world. Who is the defensive one here...
Your right GlueGun18 I'm just curious why members can't simply say "hey the PS3 has had a couple good weeks in Japan, maybe it will last maybe it won't but congrats to them." Instead of saying..."well it's only in Japan, and it might not last."
Because you'll need to face the reality that we're a Wii fan site and I wouldn't be surprised if a few were dedicated fanboys.

I guess that's why we have staff to try and ensure that people are being fair and justified in their comments.
I think Sony is bound to go up with the PS3, and hopefully there was a good turn out for black Friday, but I'm guessing all the consoles sold well because people are in a rush to find Christmas gifts
what they failed to mention is that PS3 still had 1000's of units on the shelves, and trying to find a Wii is still like rocking horse crap, they just don't have any to sell,
i mean please, DSLite sold nealy double PS3, you don't think they would all have one by now.
I agree with what your saying SmokeyAssassin, but if there isn't a Wii on the shelves then I'm not sure if we can assume someone will just go buy a PS3 or Xbox360. At a price of $399 for the 40gb model, I'm guessing people are paying that kind of money specifically for that system and not because another isn't in stock. As always I might be totally wrong, because I don't really know the buying habits of the Japanese people and they might be more impulsive, which would lend validity to the comments you made.
that and the fact that the PS3 is cheeper in Japan than anywhere else in the world.
but you missed my main point,
it wasn't that if people couldn't buy a wii they may buy a PS3, it's that a nominal number of PS3's sold,
and an unusually low number of Wii's sold (due to lack of supply), and if supply was greater, would the PS3 have out sold the Wii that month, considering there is only a couple of thousand units different.!!!!
Well could it really be the lack of supply? Because Wii is still selling large numbers in America. Why not Japan?
It's not lack of supply, there is plenty of supply of Wiis. Nintendo just releases them in small doses purposly so they will be sold out, making the Wii look more attractive to the average consumer. (Sold out means it must be good.. right?)
And I really don't understand why anyone defends any sytem... are you getting something out of it? Do the companies even care? I think not.
I could care less about how well any of the systems are doing.

Nintendo IS churning them out as fast as possible, they are NOT holding back supply. I agree, I'm not sure why so many people waste so much time defending consoles.
Anyway, gft, I think you're trying to get at demand is elastic for the PS3, many want it, but the price isn't right, so a price drop makes the sales have a long-term surge.

That... doesn't really make sense. If someone can't find a Wii for a long period of time they're more likely going to be turned away than attracted to it.
And I also can't understand why people defend not only a system, but the company as well who couldn't care less as long as they're making money. Fanyboys are FTL. Sony defense force is among the worst. I go there when I need a good laugh.
The price drop gets the credit for this... nothing else really. And it won't last long.
exactly, theres spikes... and the then theres trends. this is a spike. i mean 360 outsold wii in japan the week when ace combat came i dont think that spike deserves its own thread. spikes and trends.. my man wii will continue destroying the ps3 in japan, and 360 will continue licking the crap from the soles of their shoes in japan when this spike ends
also @kindrik, sony protecton squad are ftl because... nintendo well its just nintendo comeon many of us grew up with it and can relate! and microsoft well it doesnt need much defending on there non-video game products thats forsure.
Um, guys, you do realize the Sony Defense force website was a parody website created by Wii60.com, right?
"SDF" was first used in message boards to describe sony fanboys. the site came later as "SDF" became more popular.

Ah, yeah, in all fairness, I've seen quite fair shares of NDF and MSDF in their days, it's just that the big N and MS are doing so well, and Sony had a rough launch, the SDF is out in full force (no pun intended).

Yeah, but it's still funny to read a few of those things. Especially the comments from those people that take it seriously.

Oh, I know, especially since some of the comments are genuine. After your post reminded me about the site, I went over for over an hour and had a good laugh.
