Now I know that is review isn’t what we would call "timely". But until I get farther in Super Mario Galaxy this is the only game I can actually review with some accuracy. Wii Sports is shipped with the Wii console so that means one important thing, ITS FREE! Wii sports really demonstrates the potential of the Wii's motion sensing technology and gives a good preview of what’s to come. Wii Sports is five games in one, it features Baseball, Boxing, Tennis, Bowling and Golf. All of witch are extremely easy to pick up and play. All the games rank you after you win or lose and gives or takes away points accordingly, reaching 1000 points in a particular sport in the game will deem you a "pro" at that sport.
But the downfall is the simplicity of the games will make you wanting more when playing. Either more options or just a more in depth game. Baseball for instance is extremely fun and you might want to play more then 3 innings, you cant. Sometimes while swinging the bat the motion sensing will go a little haywire but not often or severe enough to subtract from the game. Other then those couple short comings its a great little distraction if you just want to play for a short time. Next is bowling, I found the bowling to be the most solid game. You play a full 10 frames and the ball really reacts to how you hold the wii mote (tilt etc).

The game I found the most frustrating was Golf. It judges accuracy and distance by how hard you swing the wii mote, swing too soft and the ball doesn’t go to far, swing too hard and it will fly out off bounds. It nearly seems impossible to get the perfect swing, especially when putting. I found my self in a position right on the green, three feet from the hold and all I did was barely wiggle the wii mote and the ball went flying. This is the only game in wii sports I didn’t find myself playing very often. There is also a daily fitness test feature where the game will place you in a few mini games and depending on your performance it will give you a score based on age, 20 being the highest. Most of the mini games are broken down aspects of the original game (dodging mini game for boxing etc). The fitness test can only be taken once a day per mii and is a cool feature to have on the game.
Gameplay: 3/5
Its solid and it works most of the time but its oversimplified and the game suffers a bit from it.
Graphics: 3/5
The miis are fun to watch in the games with the cartoon like graphic style, they are nothing special and bring nothing new but the miis are strangely loveable.
Sound: 2/5
Very basic sound effects and a dull announcer voice for some games leaves you wanting more.
Innovation: 4/5
There has never been something like this before, it really shows what the wii can do. It seems if more time were put in to the game it could have been much better.
Longevity: 2/5
Once you play all the sports they get old rather quickly because of there simplicity.
Conclusion: The game is free, strangely addicting at first and great for parties. What more can you ask from it.
Final Score:
3/5

Disclaimer:
The Score is not an average and I don't proofread my reviews. Not because I'm lazy but because I'm want my reviews to have a unique charm to them . . . Ok its because I'm lazy.
