Both Bungie and Bizarre Creations Leave the Mothership
The partnership between Halo developer Bungie and publisher Microsoft has always been an extremely lucrative one - record-breaking even. So why is the relationship between the two chanigng? For the same reasons that always tie publishers and developers together - money and indepedence. "We're going to get bigger profit sharing because now we're a publisher," Bungie content manager Frank O'Connor says.
On the face of it, it seems like little will change between the two. Although Bungie is now a privately held company - Microsoft now owns a minority interest in Bungie as opposed to the studio being wholly owned by Microsoft - the two have promised to continue their publishing partnership. In a statement, studio head for Bungie said, "We will continue to develop with our primary focus on Microsoft platforms." Already on the docket are the Ensemble Studios developed Halo Wars RTS and the unnamed Halo project with director Peter Jackson. When asked about whether future Bungie games would appear on other systems, Microsoft Corporate vice president Shane Kim replied "We don't intend to see that happen."

Ummmm, can you tell me what's the difference between this and the split that happened a month a go?
I don't know too much about it. I don't really keep up with microsoft too much, and now that I look I've seen that gft77 has alrady posted about this. I'd at least like everyone to see the quotes though, about Bungie not developing for other platforms.
Edit: Just looked at gft77's thread, basically the same details. This thread could be locked or it could be a discussion of whether or not Bungie's games will come to other systems. Mods, this is now in your hands.
it could be a discussion of whether or not Bungie's games will come to other systems.
Why not?
*title and topic change*
I don’t think this will change anything, at least not in the short term.
Thanks Kindrik.

Nothing will happen in the short run unless Microsoft really disappoints Bungie, which I don't see happening. However, in the next few years, however... We could have something coming to Nintendo or Sony consoles.
They're making Marathon, duh.
Don't know about Bungie, but Microsoft will probably whip out another Halo game when they look to be in trouble again.
Honestly I don't care, but I'm somewhat interested to see what Bungie can do that isn't Halo.
Didn't they say they are remaking Marathon, not Durandal which was on XBLA but a complete redone game. Marathon is awesome and its free now. For those who want it:
