Ive seen footage [gameplay and theatrical] of a fan made Star Fox 2 [similar to Assault and SF64]
I believe you are talking about 'Shadows of Lylat'
Can anyone here actually create videogames???
i doubt it, a whole videogame is a big thing
I'm in. I'm starting to get back to my old C++ habits, even though I'm sure we could leave D4rk to that front.
What ever happened to the Official WiiLoaded Channel project anyway?
Count me in!
*doesn't have a freakin' clue how to create a videogame*

if you have someone for every job, yes. people create demos and games in small groups in certain classes at college, and so long as you have at least one person specializing in an area of its creation, it can be done.

In that case. I definitly want to take part.
D4rk would handle the coding along with sc7 presumably. Snake what can you bring to the table?
I could work with a small bit of coding (I guess)

Not exactly sure. I could throw ideas at you and be creative?
Haha... >.>
You as a whole group. Either way if you guys need help, then im willing to try.
idk how well we'd do with 3 coders, one modeller/animator, and someone throwing ideas. there's more to it than that -_-

Baggsy being the muse!
Or the guy that gets all the credit and done nothing.
Or I could just stay away and continue being a failure at everything.
LZ is quite correct we would need more then that, thats why this is a fan made project. Im getting Nintendo Loyalist from all over the interwebz to part take in this flash made RPG of the century.
Snake you are welcome to be part of the beta.
Now LZ
correct me if im wrong here we will need:
Animator
Coder
Music Composer
Story Writers [bleg]
and who else?
i haven't been in a team to create a game, so i only know about the animation aspect. but you'd need a regular artist in there. character sketches/finalized renders, backgrounds, items, etc. someone for the artistic side to the art, while the animator takes the art and manipulates it to move into different positions/shapes/etc. unless you want the animator in charge of all of that (which could potentially be a lot).
for the writers, you'd also need storyboards to go with the script/storyline. that could fall under another artist's job; translating the script into images that tell the story, and so the animator knows how the story is progressing and what they'd need to animate and timing and the like.
not sure on the coding aspect though...for that youd have to ask someone else.
it would be best to have a team.
i dont want to do the whole load on my own! LOL
my computer would freakin crash in an instant
oh, i know. although it is possible to make a game alone, its extremely complicated and a pain in the arse. working with a team of people that specialize in each area really is the easiest, fastest way to get things done to the best they can and the fastest. but if you're not prepared with everyone you need, you'll run into snags along the way. i was just saying that i've never been a part of a team to create a game, so i don't know all the aspects that need to be covered. i've just done simple animations, character riggings, and character modeling in 3D/flash programs, so i know more about that and less about the coding and stuff.
but also keep in mind that bigger teams could also lead to more issues/problems. its nice to have a quiet, set group of people that work well together.
^First of all, how big of a game are you planning to make this?
Going 3-d would seriously make this too difficult, with all the coding involing un-attainables, etc. Best stick with a "fake 3d".
I've programmed a racing game of sorts, (On TB, so I doubt my programming capabilities will be of any use)
I could however, lower your hopes and kick you while your down.
xD
But seriously... yeah.
Story? Maybe? Depends what your idea is and how big you want this too be.
General Idea: Sequel [or our own twist] to the Mario RPG saga.
Visualswill be 2D sprites ripped from the consoles themselves. Im still deciding on weather or not it will be Paper Mario style or Classic SMB
nothing too spectacular.
just soemthing really cool for the fans.
if not mario, im down for new characters or other character to make into the RPG world.
