well firstly, a couple days ago someone said that EB Games was the 'Canadian version of gamestop', but there is an EB games in my town, or was, because I drove past it today and it said Gamestop infront of the store now. so is EB games really only in Canada now? and Gamestop just in the US?

also, what is the point of having the 2 different names if they are the exact same store... even the websites are pretty much the same lol.

i thought they were owned by the same company...it could be possible that they're going through changes, and to signify the completion of the changes in a location they change the name? idk...speculation on my part. but if i remember correctly there are tons of companies that change names for a newer, fresher look or to go with changes that theyve made within the company/stores.

There are still a few EB Games stores here and there...GameStop bought em out...It's the same deal as it was 10 years ago...Back when I was 13, all my games were bought from Babbage's, then EB bought them out. Eventually all the Babbage's that I knew of were converting over to EB, now all EB stores are slowly transitioning into GameStop...

Ah the nesting doll that is the specialty electronic store...The Ouroboros of video games and electronic entertainment is more like it...These chains will continue to grow bigger and fatter and eat themselves until the world ends...

GameStop bought out Funcoland, and Funcoland eventually became GameStop ( http://www.funcoland.com = gamestop.com).
I guess you could say that now GS is buying out EBG, and they're changing THEIR name as well.

Well it makes sense WHY they don't just change it instantly...If they do that they run the risk of alienating their clients. So of course they're going to keep both names around until word travels around about the massive change.

My EB Games turned into a Gamestop. It was weird...

i naturally just go to Gamestop cause i like better.

Eb games ftw. Since theres no difference, just a different name.

It's kinda funny, cause now i have 2 gamestops in the mall i go to and then across the street another gamestop. But EB games and Game Stop are owned by the same company for a couple years.

I go to GameStop because it's closer to my house. In fact there's 3 of them that's closer than the one EB in the mall here.

OMG there is a Babbage's in Citdel Mall here, it's an infinite loop. They're a;; owned by the same people even though they have different names. I doubt the Babbage's in the mall will change becaus there is an EBin that same mall.

i hate gamestop... as soon as they bought eb, my local eb gradually became crappy like gamestop until 6 months ago when it officially became a crappy gamestop.
