I've just recently realised how amazingly amazing this series is (the PS1 games, after that it went a little pear-shaped)
Wip3out: Special Edition has to be the best out of the series. Super fast-paced racing with 22 tracks and 8 racers. The best part is the multiplayer, It really adds to the game. Allegedly you can hook up another playstation with the link cable and have a 4 player game, but I lack an additional playstation, so I can't test it out.

Another great thing is that it can do widescreen 480p. For a 1995 console that's pretty damn good.
To be honest, I could be happy with just Wip3out for a good few months. Seriously. Get on eBay now. I don't think the special edition was released in the states though, but the original Wip3out is still pretty damn good
Also if you like the music, you can stick the disk into a CD player and listen to the in-game soundtrack. There's actually some pretty famous names in there too!
I hope Wip3out PS3 shapes up to be something good. I might end up buying a PS3 then
