Well here's something I think nobody believed would happen; the Wii version of Guitar Hero 3: Legends of Rock will be officially offered downloadable content sometime in 2008.
In an e-mail from Nintencast to RedOctane, the developers of Guitar Hero 3, the company were asked about the possibility of bonus content, namely extra songs for the Wii version of the game, which lost out on the feature due to conflicts with Nintendo's network service. This is the e-mail:
Hello,
Thank you for writing us.
Downloadable content for the Wii is something we are working very hard on getting in place for the new year. There is no definite timetable in place but we are hoping it will be soon.

This is sure to be very exciting for owners of the smashingly successful game. Yet, it is similarly exciting for supporters of Wii itself, who it seems many of had lost faith in the magic white box to deliver with its WiiConnect24 system.
Let's hope this forecasts a bright future for WiiConnect24.

this is f-ing huge and rejoicing news...and no one replies. then again, when they say they are working hard, that could mean they are trying to get consent from nintendo. which wont be easy.

Well from what I am guessing everyone is supposed to have a stack of 20-30 dollar SD cards hidden away in a corner. Well I guess I got some Micro SD's

I'm being more than fair, Oh well, guess its a part of life. But I'm past that part now cause since they are finally announcing downloadable content I may finally pick up GH3 for Wii.

Songs will not take up much space and rather then cluttering the block space I predict they will just be added straight into the GH3 memory and will just add more blocks to the total memory taken by GH3.
Well thats good at least, but for theoretical sake, what if someone downloaded 500+ songs to play (if they even have close to that many). What would happen if doing so filled up GH3 to the point of overloading your memory on the Wii, assuming you would have to delete songs somehow, which would suck.
.....btw i think it would be ridiculous to have that many songs, that was just me thinking in the 'what if'

ANNNNNNYWAY IF that were to happen (500 songs)that ninty would agknolage(spell it put it as wrong and i can't find it on google) that you would need an external.
Yeah but there's never going to be 500 songs released, even through the entire duration of the game's life.

Sorry for reviving this thread but my friend and have been wondering when this Downloadable Content will be available in 2008. Does anyone know?
If when/if TS4 comes on the Wii, and it has downloadable content ex. guns, chacters, I will scream like a little girl, really loud.
But hopefuly this isn't something that fades away.
If I'm getting GH3, its gonna be the 360 version. But the Wii will probably have free Downloadable Content.
