It seems Nintendo waited just a bit too long to release a wireless Nunchuk for the Wii remote. Nyko has just released images of this peripheral. Next month at CES, Nyko will debut the item. IGN had a few images of it already.
As far as usability, it's designed to function just like the original Nunchuk. Two buttons on the receiver (which connects to the Wii remote just like the tethered Nunchuk) and the Nunchuk itself will turn the system on and off. No price has been released, and there's no mention if it will run on batteries in itself, the Wii remote's batteries or if it will be rechargeable. All the details should be released next month.
Personally, the concept is great. It retains the sleek design of the Wii and makes use of the Nunchuk even more enjoyable. I'd speculate pricing would be about $5 to $10 more than the current tethered Nunchuk, which would make it a practical purchase. Looks to be a good buy if you pick up another Wii remote and need a Nunchuk for it.

I'm pretty 'meh' at this. The pricing alone for the thing is a large turn-off. Paying $5-$10 for a third party product that wouldn't exactly enhance the game play at all? Seriously. And batteries on top of that? Really.
Pointless product, really. If people with the money want to shred it over this, go ahead.
the price is an assumption. nothing's even been discussed by Nyko. just my view on it
also, nothing says it has batteries. may run off the Wii remote's batteries
... Wirelessly?
I was thinking the same thing, I don't see how it would work like that
are...they gonna have a strap for that? i have veeeery bad images in my head of nunchucks going flying...black eyes...broken tvs...broken windows...
if they are, i think i'd rather have one strap on and a wire hanging down than a strap on both wrists.
if they're not, then i'd probably not even give it a second glance, because theres no way anybody in my family or group of friends can keep their hands on it. it's already been proven that the wire connecting it to my wiimote has saved numerous lives. mostly of the people using it, cause if they'd done any damage i would have killed them.
either way, it's a lose-lose situation for me. although it's awesome that they've finally come up with a wireless version, i wouldn't spend the money on it.

so yes, there is
yay. good to know that even if i get one, the person using it will be protected from harm. by me, of course.
i may put it on my list of things i want, but i'd never use it. i'll leave it for friends who wanna double team me.
If it uses batteries, its useless to me. If somehow it doesn't...then im getting it.
I like the idea of not having the Wiimote and Nunchuck connected by the wire (Rayman whiplashes have happened way too many times) but I don't want to waste even more time charging batteries for the nunchuck as well. Also, I'd worry about it having even a slight delay of reading from the nunchuck in some games.
i dont really see the need in a wireless nunchuk. the cord is long enough so you can move as you please, but not to long so gets in the way.
That hand sure looks like it's covering up a battery plate....
Not really needed..at all.
I just wanna know what the battery life or the charge life in on this product. If it's good, then I think it's a cool idea. Being from NYKO, I'm sure it's rechargeable.
Meh, this looks like a neat product. Only, I wouldn't buy it unless I needed another wiimote; and that's not gonna happen.. so...
$10 in America = €1000000 here

+1
isnt that the point of the name? the NUNCHUCK? having 2 wirless components is retarded IMO- waste of money...
plus i already have all hte nunchucks i need- they really think im going to replace the ones i have with these? nope! whats gamestop gunna give me if i trade those in? 2$?? so retarded
im not sold
It does seem like a pretty useless and unnecessary commodity...
I guess I can kind of see it's usefulness, but all games that are available for the Wii which use the nunchuck have been designed with the cord limitation in mind already...
This just gives more freedom to move around like a maniacal ass when playing Raving Rabbids...
Yeah, while this idea looks all neat and cool, but like others have said, I can picture it flying out of my hand and breaking stuff, going through even more batteries, and I think that there is nothing wrong with the way it is right now. The cord is the perfect length. Plus I have 4 nunchucks and have no need to by this, if I ever did buy one I would wait to for Nintendo to release something since my luck with 3rd party controllers sucks.
