I'm curious if anyone else has had this issue. Both my friend and I have had it. We have the Nyko recharging base for the Wiimotes and, even after sitting on there for days, they're only half-charged and give a very short life. Is this an issue that's been brought up by others or is it just a coincidence both of us have had it happen?
Just looking at the station, I would ask if the prongs are making good contact. I had this trouble with a rechargeable mouse. Get a Q-Tip and rubbing alcohol and clean the contact points for the controllers. See if this makes a difference.

Otherwise, it is possible that the batteries are losing their life or have difficultly holding their charge. How long have you had them?
We've both had them maybe a month or two. The contacts are working fine I'm assuming since the lights do their thing (blue when charging, green when "done").
I would clean the contacts anyway, just in case, and then if that does not help, contact Nyko. I don't expect much from 3rd party quality, but they should be better than this!

This is exactly why I use throwaway AA's! I order them in bulk and can use them for any device. Not only that, but at the price I get them for, I'd have to go through over 300 batteries to make purchasing the rechargeable packs worthwhile. In other words, I would have to change the batteries in all 4 of my remotes every single month for over 3 years before they would begin become more expensive than the rechargeable! That's assuming that the rechargeable would last that long and continue to last! Of course, there is something to say about the easy of putting them on a rechargeable base, but on the other hand, I can easily change my batteries if they die, and not have to wait for a recharge!
You shouldn't expect NEARLY that much from 3rd parties joker--I have the Psyclone recharge stand. BIG problems:

One of the stands (each stand only charges 2 remotes, so I got 2) just stopped working altogether after about 3 days--wouldn't charge, the LEDs wouldn't turn on, just broken.

The batteries would do really retarded things like, while even fully charged just cutting out in the middle of a game, then coming back on. I learned this while playing MSC online. It did NOT bode well for my record Toungue

And for the grand finale, and why I may have a LAW SUIT against these people--on the OTHER stand (the one that didn't just crap out) the "stop charging" safety feature whatever (so it won't over charge, you know...) didn't work--I popped 2 remotes into it in the morning and returned a few hours later after classes to the SMELL OF BURNING PLASTIC AND METAL. I took the remotes off, and one of them wasn't working. "CRAP" I thought. I took the battery pack off--or at least tried to! OUCH! That thing was hot as hell--I had to run my hand under cold water for a few minutes before I could go back to inspecting this thing. Finally I managed to get the battery pack off--I'll get to the state of the pack in a sec (and the possible law suit) but let me first say, putting fresh batteries in the remote DID NOT WORK. The thing broke one of my bloody remotes (I of course replaced it the next day Toungue)

The battery pack? MELTED. That thing got SO hot that it effing MELTED. That is a straight up fire hazard like WHOA. I called up their warranty people and left a number of messages--they REFUSE to contact me about this. Yeah. That thing could have burned down my apartment.

Moral? 3rd parties can LICK MY BALLS.
Dude, without sounding too overreactant or nerdy I think you should contact the National Consumer Agency. Those batteries can literally explode and kill someone.

Just give them a call sometime Smile
I know! that's why I was saying possible law suit Smile

I wouldn't mind a nice large settlement Ph43r M3h
My NYKO batteries work fine! I have had mine for a few months now and enjoy them. They have saved me a LOT of money.
I have the dual recharge station and have had no issue with it at all. Mine charges to the max, and does a great job. The only problem I've had with battery life is due to a defective Wii-mote.

BTW I'm not big on 3rd party stuff, but NYKO seems to put out some really good Nintendo gear, and I wouldn't be afraid to purchase another Nintendo product off of them.
Mine works well....so far.... >_>

Maybe you got lucky?

Have you still got the receipt? You could try taking them back.
