No More Heroes has been slowly gaining more and more attention since it was initially announced. No doubt due to the fact that it's a rare hardcore third party game amongst a sea of casual and party titles.
No More Heroes is an extremely violent and bloody* game, a rarity on Wii. You take control of Travis Touchdown, a gamer who decides to take a job as an assassin to help pay the bills. Your objective is to become the #1 ranked assassin in the world. Plain and simple.
Unfortunately for our friends in the PAL regions they will be receiving the Japan version of the game which means it will be sans blood since the Japanese apparently aren't too big on that kind of stuff. But it's more than likely due to the controversy surrounding the perhaps just as bloody
Manhunt 2 which was rejected for classification by the BBFC. In place of blood there will be black "smoke" that will escape from freshly skewered enemies. Although the game still looks really sharp we know there's more than a few of you who will be disappointed by this. But then again, after the shock of having
Brawl pushed back into the third quarter of 2008 I doubt anyone will even notice this.

that is pretty lame, but its not too bad, I mean its not like it will change the gameplay or anything. I just don't see how taking away blood will really make it less 'violent', I mean do they think that when a person playing sees blood, they'll automatically go on a shooting rampage?
Kinda lame given that this game is SUPPOSED to be over-the-top violent... Oh well, I'm in the US

With what happened with Manhunt, I'm not too surprised that Rising Star Games decided to go with this choice.
Is this common for violent games in Europe? Why No More Heroes?
I'm so glad I'm modding my Wii and importing the American version.
PAL FTL.
LOLOLOLOLOLOLOL
SMOKE INSTEAD OF BLOOD? XD
Oh now come on! This game is supposed to be violent! Unless it has the same levels of gore as Manhunt 2 (which I doubt), it would probably make it through the censors with an 18, so what are they so worried about? Heck, this is the country where Manhunt and GTA were born!
Even with the extreme violence the stupidity levels are through the roof in the parental area of video gamers.
"OMGTEHVIOLENCE!"
Honestly, its the people blaming video game violence who need to grow up.
Odd as it may sound I think the blackish smoke might add to the goofyness effect. The violence will still be over the top, just instead of bright red plasma you have smoke. I think I saw a video with it, it doesnt look bad at all~
That said it is ridiculus on many levels, but there hasnt been something else to blame. It happens throughou history~ I mean not that long ago it was Heavy Metal and Comic Books. Dungeons and Dragons, all thought to drive people into crazy rampages.

No?
;~;
Why do we get kicked about!?
that really blows. first Brawl now this. my heart goes out to you PAL gamers.
First Brawl and now this. This is just getting more and more ridiculous by the second. I'm not a PAL gamer but this is just wrong and I feel for all of you who are stuck with the PAL version if you can't import.
LMX is the smart one with Wiikey.
This doesn't make any sense. Since when has Europe been against blood? Except Germany of course
Lol...this is just, pointless? Arrrgh it annoys me.

Suda 51 originally stated that NMH would more violent than Manhunt . From the videos it looks like its, only Travis doesn't really take himself seriously and it's cel-shaded so it's less controversy. They didn't want to risk the game being banned even though graphical style isn't realistic, it's still senseless amounts of blood. And the Japanese had some gold stuff instead of blood, it looked like coins.
Wait, so NTSC is the only region with blood? that's...weird
Basically yes, which is very weird. There is small amounts of blood in the Japanese game, but it's mainly the gold stuff. There are worse M rated games here, blood wise, so maybe that's the reasoning.
