I'm reading Firestarter by Stephen King. It's pretty good so far. I'm about 100 pages in.
We also just finished reading The Catcher in the Rye by J.D. Salinger as a class novel. It wasn't a terrible book but a little boring. But being made to analyse and do an essay about it kills it even more. When I finish reading a book I don't like going through and analysing themes and the such. But with some books it's worse than others and it's pretty bad with this one.
I'm reading your post right now.
Just finished the Forgotten Realms book 1 of War of the Spider Queen: Dissolution by Richard Lee Byers, and have maybe 10-15 pages left in Bloodwalk by James P. Davis...and im starting Darkvision by Bruce R. Cordell
comicbook wise, i just finished Dark Tower and Invincible.
textbook wise, im reading through chapter 4 of Calculus I, a collection of articles regarding the Myths and Monuments from ancient Egypt, and another collection about Religion and Queerness in Art.
dare i go on?
Slaughterhouse V....still
I just to be a huge reader but haven't had time much lately and have only been averaging about 4 to 5 books per year... I'm currently reading Stephen King's CELL. I'm a huge Stephen King fan and I have all this books and I just got around to getting this one.
in school we all have to read a book..
Animorphs #2
I am reading the Greek play "Agamemnon" for Classical Greece and Rome.
"This Side of Paradise" by F Scott Fitzgerald
"Epileptic" by David B.
"Fables Vol.2 Animal Farm"
and various Marvel comics best of which I'd say are
Daredevil, Moon Knight, and New Avengers
Kindrik - If you haven't already read "One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest" by Ken Kesey. I read that in school around the time I read Catcher, and it remains one of my all time favorite books. Then go see the movie, also good, but different because it focuses on a different character perspective wise.
Oh, by the way, to the Stephen King fans here I suggest Dark Tower.
It was created by Stephen king and seems to be very popular, but may be a little hard to find.

i'm sorry you had to read this for school. that is the worst possible environment you could read it in. i know alot of people who love the book and a lot of people who disdain it, but very few in between. i read it at a time where i could relate to it a good deal and it left a big impression on me. since then i've found many better catcher-in-the-rye-esque books. i would particularly recommend a seperate peace by john knowles or a season in hell by arthur rimbaud.
also, i would like to state for the benefit of those who didn't like catcher in the rye that salinger's three other books are much different and written in a much more detailed style. so if you don't like catcher, don't be afraid to pick up one of salinger's other books.[/u]
