Interesting, shame the films arent particularly worth watching ^_^
I know exactly what your saying...
I know someone will probably post...you just wait till the dual layer Blu Ray disc come out...then you'll see how good they are, but i guess the question begs to be asked. If Blu Ray could only compete with HD DVD quality on a dual layer disc, why didn't Sony wait to release the technology until they could produce a dual layer disc in large amounts?
I have a feeling we might be looking at another...

yeh, because IMO sony always try, but end up with just a blue ribbon. that and a Dual Layer BDRom will cost about ?50 is crazy, at those prices we shoukld be looking at HVDs (Holographic Versatile Disk)
i was just at best buy this weekend, and neither the Blu Ray or the HD DVD area was impressive. they didn't even have them hooked up to TVs, though the Blu Ray player had a pamphlet which shows it isn't pushing out Dolby True HD
LOL the average assistant in an electronics store in the UK hasn't even heard of HDDVD or Blueray
they say the HD DVD players are barely staying on the shelves at best buys and such, but i guess that makes sense since they've had good reviews and are half the price of the blu ray players.
