those attorneys actually have a good point of the game not being 720p
oh well. it's not like it's that big a deal. u cant tell the difference
When I first read the thread title I thought it was refering to this:
Microsoft Embroiled in Halo 3 Lawsuit
After seeing Activision hit with a class action lawsuit over Guitar Hero 3 on the Wii and it's mono sound
SOURCE, this doesn't really surprise me. Do I think it's a bit of a joke...yeah, but maybe this will get game makers to advertise/box their products a bit more carefully.
For the people who love Halo 3, I don't think they care if it's not running at 720p or whatever, so they should just dismiss this and let these people have their day in court and not worry too much about it.
its amazing how ppl have become sue happy
yea. btw, how would u find out what the resolution of the game is? if they say it's 720p, how could u prove them wrong?
People need to learn only a select few optimized, not so detailed games will ever be RENDERED in 1080p on either the 360 or PS3 (and run at an acceptable framerate). The hardware is simply too limiting.

i have no idea, but i'm guessing you'd be looking really hard to find out. my guess is these ppl just want money. and will make up any lame ass excuse.
I'm guessing they have some program they can run while the game is running.
Thats how they originally discovered the fact anyway.
they just want money. attorneys sueing halo are FTL
halo has good graphics. why do they have to go and say they arent as good as they advertised them to be?
missed it for quite a few replies, but oh well
to those who said those other games did the same thing and wonder if they should be sued too, yes. doesn't matter who did it, it's still false advertising. i'm not saying bungie/MS should be sued b/c i loathe halo, i'm saying it b/c it's immoral
the GHIII audio thing with the Wii is a bit different from what i interpreted. i took it as that was a technical issue. the game was SUPPOSED to include stereo audio but b/c of some error that occured the discs didn't output audio properly. if Activision/RedOctane purposefully put out the audio incorrectly like those companies purposefully put the image out different than what it advertised, they should be dealt with as well
actually bungie didint take cut pixels they used two buffers and in the end the game actually runs at 1280p... that was bungies official response to this the week after it launched these lawyers have heard bungies response they know that they have know case and theyre probably just trying to gain popularity or something... like i said before.. and what they did is not immoral its actually modest not advertising that they made theyre game run in SUPER-HD.
Bungie has finally put an end to rumors and talks about the 640p resolution issue in Halo 3. According to the weekly update Bungie uses two frame buffers, and thats that.
"So what gives? Did we short change you 80 pixels? Naturally it's more complicated than that. In fact, you could argue we gave you 1280 pixels of vertical resolution, since Halo 3 uses not one, but two frame buffers - both of which render at 1152x640 pixels. The reason we chose this slightly unorthodox resolution and this very complex use of two buffers is simple enough to see - lighting. We wanted to preserve as much dynamic range as possible – so we use one for the high dynamic range and one for the low dynamic range values. Both are combined to create the finished on screen image."
"In fact, if you do a comparison shot between the native 1152x640 image and the scaled 1280x720, it’s practically impossible to discern the difference. We would ignore it entirely were it not for the internet’s propensity for drama where none exists. In fact the reason we haven’t mentioned this before in weekly updates, is the simple fact that it would have distracted conversation away from more important aspects of the game"
thats bugnies official word (in bold)... and they released that a week after the game (when this was big news)
wow. so they're saying just because it's a small lie it's ok. what utter BS. if the 1280 thing is so much better, why didn't they advertise that on the box then instead of 720? still makes no sense
why can't microsoft just come out and say they f*cked up for once. admit and move on. stop trying to cover your sh*t with a rug
