Weknow you're on pins and needles, so we'll just come right out and tell you that Spike TV's latest Video Game Awards has lifted up BioShock as the year's best game, with Andrew Ryan's underwater extravaganza besting other notables such as Mass Effect, The Orange Box, and Halo 3. With Samuel L. Jackson once again at the helm, the awards show went down last night at Las Vegas' posh Mandalay Bay, and we imagine is now being carefully outfitted with extreme graphics and Mountain Dew ads for its television broadcast on Dec. 9 at 9PM.

Besides its game of the year nod, BioShock also walked away with awards for being the best Xbox 360 game and having the best original score, making it also responsible for the event's most return trips to the stage.

Spike being targeted at the average Collage frat boy, I'm not surprised at the 360 and FPS love.

But Bioshock?
At least they made a good choice by choosing Orange Box for being best PC game.

BTW, I just beat HL2 and Ep1.
Its been about 3 weeks with HL, and I beat Ep1 in two sittings.. didn't even feel longer then 4 hours.

yeah thats why i never take that show seriously at all, the 1up and Gamespot choices are at least FAN MADE choices.

i thought it was LAME, the only thing I liked about it was seeing the women. I liked their 'outfits'

i hope you mean the mountain dew thing, becuase halo didnt win much really they gave it a mercy victory with "best multiplayer" because that should have went to CoD4 also.

the most addictive category was chosen by mountain dew, it was 100% rigged becuase mountain dew is a sponsor of halo 3

Galaxy tends to get lumped into that category even though it's really a platformer. It was put in the same category for the X-Play end of the year awards. SMG and Zack & Wiki are the only Wii nominees on X-Play's list this year.
