SMG is still holding strong with over 100,000 sales, at that rate it won't be long until it reaches the 2 million mark.
I wonder why the 360 beat out the Wii... my best guess is holiday shopping+limited numbers of Wiis. Anyone else got a better theory?
Sounds logical to me. I mean over here in the land down under there are some damn good 360 deals going on. And Galaxy is now being sold for $76AU (as opposed to the usual $99AU price tag)

I <3 Christmas gaming :3

Nope, only evidence.  Go to a number of dept./electronic stores.  Look for Wii's, then look for 360's.  Which one is sitting on shelves?  The Wii would be selling like mad if they could keep a stocked supply.  It's a shame really, cause it will ultimately hurt the Wii in the long run as parents won't likely want to buy 2 gaming systems in one year. And I doubt they can keep the hype and limited supply craze til next christmas.

The Wii sold 325,000 last week and well over 400,000 the week before, so why would fewer than 250,000 be available this week?
Because this upcoming Sunday, is the last before Christmas and that's the last chance for big stocks to be sold for the rest of the year. So stores are holding back until Sunday, It was around this time last year when I got mine.
