I could hear from the beginning to about 12Khz then it stopped for a second and then I could hear between 13KHz and 17KHz

Dog whistles are between 20 000 and 22 000hz so yes, your dog heard all of it xD
I found something like this a long time ago, only they where downloadable ring tones. Isn't it cool to have a ringtone that makes every kid in the class, (except the ones that blare their music into their ears so loud I can hear it from across the room) writh in pain and the teacher doesn't get whats going on.
I can't hear past 16khz anymore.. I'm losing my hearing too fast.
At the age of 18 is normal to not hear anything above 18khz.
I'm a year early, and a K below.
(this teats isn't too good btw, I used http://www.jimmyr.com/blog/hearingloss.html, and had my speakers on 10 (out of 40) )
The louder the speakers are, the higher the frequency you can hear.
With my speakers on 25, I can hear 22khz

generally speaking, the younger you are, the more of it you can hear. I can hear those tones better than the average 24 year old (I remember from previous study on the subject).
As for wii for me, you should probably turn your speakers on.

I could hear it all up to like 13-14khz. After that it would randomly cut in. It was weird. That got REALLY loud at some points.
