I talked to my sister yesterday and she told me she'd picked up two of the new PSP bundle packs for my nephews. As most people know those things are like $190 a piece.

After I hung up the phone, I started thinking. The boys both have a DS, which they play sometimes, and with the money she's spending on the two PSP's, would the boys rather have a full fledged game system like a 360 or PS3?

Knowing their gaming style, and knowing that of the last gen system they only have a Xbox, I'd think they'd want a 360.

I'd like everyone's opinion on this.
Most people would obviously pick a 360 over 2 PSPs.
I think that would be their choice too. So here's my second question, how do I know that a 360 has the better chipset in it. I know the Halo 3 edition one does, but how about on the others?
I *think* that if the the premium 360s with the HDMI port have the new chipsets,
I know this is more a 360 are thing, but I found my own answer. Thanks for your help Wenis.

When you go to buy a new 360 check the power supply wattage. If it reads 175 watts, then you know you have one with a newer chipset.

This is how I got my 360.

I was gonna get a PSP Ice Silver which would come up too $240 after tax, and a Mp3 Stereo for my MP3 player. And all in all it would be close too $350, so my mom said might as well get a 360.

WHAT!? My November elite is 203W, and the OLD CHIPSET. I hope at least it has the fixed heatsink.

I hope my Pro has a good chipset.
I was ready to go to walmart and help her pick up an elite pack with the 2 games, and the 175w falcon chipset, but she said the boys wanted the PSP's instead. Personally I wouldn't have gone for the 360 but so is life.
Wow, I also thought they would choose the 360. Maybe they will live to regret it?
I really don't know. I mean they love their xbox, and they enjoy their DS's, but I think the 360 has much stronger legs then the PSP does. To each their own though. Like I said earlier, I would have gone to Walmart and picked it out for them if that's what they decided on. The boys are great at saving their cash, so I guess if they want a 360 anytime soon they'll get one then.

They have friends who have the PSP and 360, so it's not like they went into this blind. I do believe that the exclusive star wars game on the PSP did have something to do with their decision.
If they have DS then they definitely don't even need PSP. Because lets be honest here, its the worse of the two options. It has not got a very strong library, its overpriced and its making a worse mistake than the PS3 made by pushing UMD.

I'd recommend the 360. I'd assume you'd want one with a good chipset as well.
I would have recommended the 360 too, but as I said in a previous post, they've chosen to stick the special addition Daxter PSP and Star Wars PSP.
Perhaps they're interested in the new God of War and Final Fantasy: CC games coming out on PSP early next year?
Thank you all for your suggestions, but since they've made their choice, I'm gonna lock the thread.
