They sold me farcry vengeance telling me that it was the best fps for the wii, but then didn't give me a receipt so that i could get my 18 dollars back... they offered 3 bucks for it....

Oh wow. That blows. Especially because its Far Cry.

But you never listen to Gamestop. They'll tell you anything is the best game in "insert genre here" to sell it.

Yeah, they couldn't sell it without telling you that because from what I've heard the game sucks.

Not to be a douche, but... your problem for not doing research. It's a retailer, what do you expect them to say? "Oh, no, that game sucks. Don't buy stuff from us."?

Well its not all her error. Stores should be offering decent advice and not trying their best to sell people crap. In my local gamestation they always seem to be discussing whats bad and whats good.They always seem to offer people good advice, which is what all stores should do. Which sadly isn't the case for you. Im quite angry at the fact they didn't even give you a receipt, are you sure you havn't just lost it?

Yeah true, in my local GAME they always tell you what's good and what's bad. GameStop are one of those companies that are the "big cheese" so don't care.

Also, did you buy it on your Edge Card? That should act as a receipt. It stores all your purchases on it.

Yeah, ask about the edge card. It is pretty slack of them to not offer you a receipt otherwise.

But it wouldn't hurt for these game stores to actually give good advice. But heck, EB here offers you a Wii for only $200 when you trade in a PS2 and 15 games... because that's worth it........

I don't see how they could have "sold" you a game without a receipt. I'd look through your things a bit more and try to find it, because that game does blow.

Could you really sue for something like this...?

It was the newbie who sold me the stuff, they should give me my money back and let me buy cooler stuff than FAR CRY

Best of luck doing that, I hope it works out for you, but Far Cry has been out for quite a long time and walking in without a receipt and asking for your full 18 bucks back might be challenging.

On what grounds are you going to sue them if you don't have a receipt to prove you purchased it?

Also, since when is a salesman's opinion on a video game grounds for a lawsuit?

There is EBAY, AMAZON and frigging TARGET.

I mean, yeah...not every retailer is great, but GAMESTOP? When have they ever been guilty of being an awesome place to shop??

I buy from Gamestop, because of selection, and they are primarly a videogame store, and would focus more videogames. While on the other hand stores like Target and Wal-Mart have less selection and don't much attention to their videogames. Half the time, the kiosks don't work.

And since you purchased it on your edge card you should be able to get a refund. So this doesn't happen again, do some research on the game, looking at reviews or asking the members of WL thir opinion on it

There is always a possibility that someone on ebay will rip you off. Amazon is not the most trust worthy online retailer when it comes to anything videogame related because they take so many orders that they can't supply them all. People end up waiting weeks after the release of the item they purchased. It has happened to members here and to people I know. Target, Wal-Mart, etc, they aren't focused on videogames so their selection is often low. GameStop is the place to go because it specializes in videogame related items. Practically every other videogame store in NA is owned by the same company, so it doesn't really matter which one you go to.

I can't get RE: UC or SMG at Gamestop, but my Target had 2 million of them.

What esoteric Wii titles are you seeking out that Target doesn't carry?

You guys need to stop stereotyping Gamestop employees. Yes a lot of employees are all about making sales and will do whatever it takes but that will go for a lot of places today. You can't always just blame the employee either. If I were u I would have made sure i got the receipt. If they dont give it to you then ask.

I usually just pre-order big titles I know I want and usually GameStop has exclusive deals/offers when you pre-order with them. I got free posters and a holiday shopping guide from them because of that. When I went to go pick up my copy of SMG, I saw several copies of RE:UC at GameStop. But really it depends on your location on what retailers have in stock.
