ok...so my family got a 360 for christmas. yay! just what i've always wanted...but i have to share it cause its the "family's system" while the wii is all mine -_- makes no sense. and right now, my sister and my dad are pretty p.o.ed that i'm the only one that found any games for it.

my sister's 13. she's not too great with dealing with the mature fighting/war/fps games. i bought her a few rpgs for the ps2 a while back and she seemed to enjoy them, but she hasn't played them in a while so idk if she still likes them. shes very "meh" about gaming, yet she's complaining she has nothing to play. she's been playing my Mass Effect and getting nowhere fast, and i can tell she doesn't like it or fully grasp it. i saw Eternal Sonata, and thought she might like it, but is there anything else you'd suggest for her?

then my dad. loves games. used to be big playing everything, then stopped after the SNES. now he doesn't wanna pick anything up cause he "lost his groove." the only game he's shown interest in is NHL08, but when my mom was in the store the other day she said there was NHL08 and NHL2k8. any difference, or is she just seeing things? and what games would you suggest to revive this old-timer?

not expecting much, but just a few games to shut them up XD
I want to get Eternal Sonata..

Download them demo's and see if they like them. That could help.
Eternal Sonata's feel good vibe, music, and the fact it actually has an active fighting system may interest your sister (I know you'll adore it being the RPG nutjob). There's also a Katamari Damacy for the 360 called "Beautiful Katamari". Don't forget Viva Pinata!

XboxLive Arcade has many quickplay titles you can try out demos for. Just have your dad download some puzzle games and such and see what he thinks. Far as the sports games go, I never bothered.

I agree... your family made an odd choice as a family system. The Wii's the A.D.D. toy that's best played in short bursts, the 360 is more of a focused monstrosity along the likes of the PS3. Course, I bet the Xbox Arcade games are the best choice you can have.

This is weird sounding, but Halo 3 isn't a very violent shooter. You're killing Aliens (goofy colors of blood) and mutants, never human beings. Because of this, I'm sure your sissy sister can appreciate it. I doubt anyone would yell at you for playing it in the living room. Game also has a beyond-easy difficulty at it's lowest setting, so I bet any of them could pick it up and play. Combine that with a split-screen co-op and multiplayer and lots of goofy things can happen providing you have more than one controller.

Did you consider any fighting games yet?

[EDIT]

Rock Band. Get your family rock band and all things will be settled. The huge bundle package costs a pretty penny but gives you a guitar, drums, a mic - all you need to get everyone in your living room SCREAMING like idiots. Awesome songs too.
Ummm mass effect took me a day or two to get into but once i did i was blown away.... Have your sis stick with that..

For your dad get him call of duty 4 and throw him into some online matched Toungue
oh dear my father would die...

my cousin lent us guitar hero, and my dad came to the sad realization that his hands can't cooperate with each other and move at the same time...baad coordination. and my sister played once, then refused to touch it. again, i was the only one playing until i had to bring it back -_-;; so rock band is probably out.

as for mass effect, she's been going around the citadel for a while, and she likes moving and completing the assignments that involve talking. when she went to chora's den, she flung the controller at me (i was caught off-guard on the phone) and made me fight. called me a liar for saying it was "probably safe" for her to walk without dying.

ill tell her to look at eternal sonata then, and katamari doesnt sound bad...viva pinata i have no idea what that is other than the previews i saw during the movie trailers before and it kinda scared me...
Wow looks like your family are pretty fussy gamers. Definitly try giving her Viva Pinata. If you play and look beyong the cute looking Pinatas, there is quite a bit of strategy involved with the game. Plus its alot of fun! For me anyways...
NHL 08 is made by EA, and is much better than NHL 2K8, which is a pretty lousy game made by 2k. Suprisingly, only last year, it was the other way around.
if youre connected to xbl, just d/l a bunch of demos or xbla trial games.
Viva Pinata is more frightening than Silent Hill. It encourages incest and feeding parents remains to their children, all while set to a Lucy-In-The-Sky-With-Diamonds feeling backdrop.
erm... no matter what RPG your sister plays shes going to need to fight something.. Eternal sonata is no exception
But Eternal Sonata is a very colorful and cheery game.

yes, i know. she doesnt mind fighting easy battles as long as she isn't getting shot from every direction or without warning...i think she just needs to get into the game slowly and then she can handle it. she said she enjoys the game, but got aggrivated when she couldnt stay alive...

aah, gotcha. that makes that decision a lot easier.

i showed them the demos available, and they said they'd look through them and download some, but i havent checked to see which ones, and they havent mentioned any yet. but at least its a step in the right direction...
