Its because at least those other consoles are getting some decent third party titles to balance it out.
And as for Mario Sunshine, it was boring, it was too easy, it was uninspired, it was just Mario 64 with a water jetpack, it sucked.
I bought the Wii primarily for Nintendo franchises, but the more I play, I'm seeing if those games aren't up to par, what's the point.
The best quote in this thread so far. I didn't see an ad on TV with people flailing their arms and say "Wow mom, get me one". I bought it for the Nintendo games I know and love like Zelda and Metroid. I couldn't wait to see how they would be done on Wii.
How do I feel about them now? Let down. Not disappointed, considering we thought this may happen, but just let down. I still love my Wii, and I have no plans to buy an Xbox or PS3. Instead I'll just buy PC parts.
when i heard of the wii, i NEVER saw a comericial for it. and when i did, it was very basic but enough to go "wth did i just see?" they didnt really advertise like crazy but that wasnt the reason i bought it.
see my bfs brother had brought it over when it first came out and we were all playing wiisports. from there i loved it. ive had the wii as long as everyone else has since i got it before new years eve not too long since its realease. i got it because i thought it was fun and interactive.
i dont call myself a "fanboy" but ive had every type of system growing up and the last one i owned was a ps2. then i got xbox and then came the wii.
am i upset that i got the wii? NOPE! like cosmic said, let down. sure i love it for parties and i was talking to mana about it. the wii is more for friends and get togethers. if you wanna play real games then stick with what you know and dont make a system be something it isnt ever going to be.
and if a port does come out it will only be critized for its gameplay and graphics....hence stick to the game system the game is initially made for. dont turn the wii into a gaming system its just not ment to become.

can i tell you something? i never owned hardcore games for nintendo atleast not that i can think of. i had zelda of course but thats a given......i cant really think of anything ....maybe its cause im blanking but im sure ill get the "OMG WHAT DO YOU MEAN YOU NEVER HAD XYZ GAME!?!?" and ill go...oh yeah...thats right

the wii still has plenty of 'hardcore' titles coming. just cause there are lots of party games now doesn't mean that there are always going to be too many.

I'm not doing that at all. Before, Nintendo had the best selection of games. When I bought the Wii, I expected some shovelwear from most third parties, yes, but I NEVER expected their first party games to be so casual that they aren't fun. I never wanted it to be like my 360 or PS3, but I wanted at least some games that are challenging/fun/tight/not irritating to play.
Oh, and Drew. Stop being so casual. We can be hardcore gamers and own a Wii and complain about the crappy casual direction Nintendo is skipping down.

What about MPH and LoZ: PH? And both Castlevanias were pretty good, too. Well, I guess that's still only 5 games...
MPH is dumb and completely different to the other Metroids. LoZ: PH is great but WAY too easy. It keeps giving you hints. I wish you could turn them off.

that's the problem. Hardcore is just a word. By its very definition it means something different to everyone. Any game can be hardcore if enough people play it.
But what games am I talking about? No More Heroes, SSBB, Disaster: Day of Crisis, Dragon Quest Swords: The Masked Queen and the Tower of Mirrors, FF:CC2, etc.

Im not 100% sure about the wii remotes and what they lack because i barely have solid games for the wii, the most is like Mario Party 8 , and Prince of persia which i really dont play..
As i play my ps2 though, the controls are more smooth and just have an overalll difference, BUT i styll love the wii remotes , yet they can be used to more extent

Yeah, MPH is only good multi, and I wish I could've turned off hints too, or like, have a hard difficulty or something.
MPH isn't dumb. It was just a side-story. It was a multiplayer game anyway, the single player was tacked on for he hell of it. You can tells.

Really? I thought the way pointing the Wii-mote in the water to force direction was so convoluted it made the level more of a point and hope to finish.

oh no hunni thats not what i was saying at all- im talkin about the fanboys. the ones that try to morph anything and everything to match their needs and how it will never be better than the system they praise so much
youre doing just the opposite and saying something else. i totally got your message- it was more going towards some of the members with fanboy views thats all.
Can we all just agree, that Xbox Live is awesome, and that we will get good games eventually.
