If you want me honest opinion.

...I wont say it because LMX will attack me. Lol. I don't like Metroid really.. DDDDDD:

Cloud's entitled to not like good games and play teh Halo instead. His loss, not mine.
BUT Cloud does like quality RPGs!

Come here Cloud, take refuge in my haven--we'll take good care of you, provide you with a Super Nintendo, and feed you beer.

You're welcome, too LMX. Just don't be mean because of ONE game he likes Toungue Plus, you know I personally like Metroid

Yay. Playing Super Nintendo drunk.

I like Metroid for some features, and it certainly was a different experience on Wii, so I view it as a good thing. I bought Super Metroid for Xmas, and I like it, but like all my Virtual Console games I rarely play it. Metroid Zero Mission for the Game Boy Advance was awesome, and I played it all through my vacation to Turkey!

With Wii controls implemented properly the next Legend of Zelda game could be great, but chances are the next Zelda game won't hit Wii so that's unfortunate. I would have loved the sword controls completely mapped onto the Wii remote, rather than just waggling for a certain length of time to continue a combo. The Wii Remote in Twilight Princess was just technically an awkward B-Button. Twilight Princess was a fun game, just too easy in comparison with Ocarina Of Time and A Link To The Past. Remember those Wii commercials with the guy swinging the Wii Remote like a sword, and then stabbing forward to make Link stab an enemy? Did it actually work that way? No.
Yeah, it might not be on the wii, but the wii will probably be around for at least 5 years probably. We might get another wii zelda.

4 years would be my prediction.

Well DS is around for a long time and according to Nintendo will still be around for a long time. The way Nintendo sees it is that DS is the icon of their current gaming ideology. They aren't going to risk changing their image, at least not until they have to (another three years maybe)
they'll change when everyone in the world owns a DS. Then we'll get the DS2 which will have no buttons at all and will be all touch, voice and motion sensitive.
Nah, I'm saying no to motion. I ain't flailin' my arms on the bus!

All motion? Maybe.

One ultra thin screen with no stylus? I hope so, it works well and is accurate with iPhone and iPod touch.
Nah, motion sounds weird, and if it's all-touch based, it better have a smudge-proof screen, cause I'm obsessive compulsive in...ways...

Oh, and Drew. Stop being so casual. We can be hardcore gamers and own a Wii and complain about the crappy casual direction Nintendo is skipping down.

Amen, brudda!

so we gotta hear you slurp muse and metroid ad nauseum but i cant disagree with the 5 or 6 of you who cant seem to evolve with the new evolution in gaming, nah, not gonna happen bro

choo choo... all aboard the casual train

As long as the casuals keep sucking it up, Nintendo will stick to it. They know what happened in earlier generations. Casuals will likely buy software over it's time, but when they hear Nintendo is canceling production, and moving all software over to a new console, they'll be less inclined to jump at it than regular gamers would.

You do have to hear me say it, and you do have the right to complain. Just like we have the right to complain about this "Casual Cancer"

It's def a cancer--there's no cure in sight Sad

And this is exactly what I hoped we could avoid, fanboyism in the discussion. Read around the web, it's more than 5 or 6 previous die-hard Nintendo fans who are upset with the way they're going. You may think the Wii remote is revolutionary (and waggle, oh yes, so very inventive), but most people who really like their video games are only hanging in for brawl. It's the "casuals" who sweep up garbage like Carnival Games that still really like these controls.

I wouldn't be so quick to jump at everybody, since your lack of ability to listen to a single iota of criticism of Nintendo causes you to defend them regardless.

i think alot of you have missed the point,

my problem with the constant griping about casual games is (and maybe i got a tad fanboy)

you are missing the forest for the trees...casual games are just a by product of this console not what its all about

there is only so far the button mashing graphics stations can go there just isnt much more realism that can be achieved each evolutionary cycle

but with the wii its re inventing the parameters of gaming and so now gaming can grow and develop in many more ways not just graphically

thats my point
First things first, very well written and organized rant. Now for my noob opinion that no one really cares about Toungue

In all honesty, and i'm ashamed to say, my Wii has not been turned on since Thanksgiving. Part of that reason is due to the fact that I got sucked into an MMORPG but thats only part of it. The other reason is simply that the Wii is not appealing to me as much as it used to which could be due to a lot of things really.

Some of the things that may be causing me to lose interest is the fact that I blow through the games way too fast, even playing on a harder setting. Another could be the fact that there aren't as many games that interest me. Many of you could call them "hardcore games" even though I don't think that term should even exsist. (I just want some more FPS/RPG action.)

Don't get me wrong with all of this, I still love my Wii and I will not be selling it. But unfortunately it will sit there collecting dust till i decide to go buy SMG or some people come over to play. So in ending the Wii while it is turning extremely casual may not be the greatest treat for everyone, but I have my Wii to entertain guests and my PC for my so called "hardcore gaming."
Nice post BB Smile

And let me make a request to LMX and drew102e. Please either finish your argument by Private Message or agree to disagree. sc7 made a request for this not to happen, and we should respect him.
i dont think drew and lmx are "fighting" they are stating eachothers opinions. leave it be and if it gets extremely out of hands let a mod handle it. people just posting for them to "quit it" when they arent really doing anything wrong isnt helping

just leave it be and let them state their opinion. if words get dirty stick to PMs in the mean time i enjoy reading their differences. SC7 might feel different but no ones getting their feelings hurt
