I'd personally like to hear sc7's opinions on what can be done.
I support my earlier claim of members targeting other members choices other then just displaying their own opinion for all to see.

Seriously guys. We're not here to convert others, give your opinions, support them with facts. But don't attack others'. If a person is unwilling to change their opinions, let them be.
One, its not worth your time.
Two, why does it matter?

So please continue this discussion in a dignified manner, and leave your egos at the door. Thank you for choosing NW:TM, have a nice day.

And let me make a request to LMX and drew102e. Please either finish your argument by Private Message or agree to disagree. sc7 made a request for this not to happen, and we should respect him.

you stop mini-modding, then we'll see

THAT wasn't called for--he was just trying to maintain some order, whether he was right about it or not. If you DEPEND on mods, that's your loss. It's good to see that other members care enough to try to keep things civil.

Now, ON TOPIC... My Wii hasn't been on in weeks, and likely won't be until Feb 10
I have reasons to put on my Wii, to add in my VC Card, but I will wait until games that I want come out. lol
My Wii has heaps of reason to be on, Like playing MP3, and yesterday we rented Umbrella Chronicles to play it... wow that game is average. But yeah, at the moment there are a couple of good games keeping the Wii afloat until Brawl comes out in a couple of weeks.

And Brawl shall dominate all.
I guess the Wii just isn't my thing.  I can't get into MP3:C, and I never liked Resident Evil.  (Never that big on overly violent stuff).  I'm guilty of feeling that graphics matter to me more than they should, and I have a tough time playing a console with notably lower graphics than PLAYSTATION 3 or Xbox 360.

PS. I wish it weren't the case. Also, I just prefer a controler opposed to motion sensing. Oh well, we'll see. I'm debating keeping my Wii only for Brawl, but otherwise, I'm really tempted by the PS3's amazing 2008 (and my 360's inability to function properly, once again). As for the DS, well that was probably a mistake from the get go, since I really don't play handhelds. (Whenever I'm not near a console, I'm not playing games anyway, so when I'm home, I'll always prefer to play on the console.

I am not mini-modding, I was sick of reading your conflicts. I requested that you finish it by PM.

As for what sc7 said, i agree, in part. While I like standard gamepad controllers, I still feel that the Wii controls have not been put to their full strengths, even by Nintendo. Sometimes they go too far to prove that the controls "can work", such as those annoying twist controls in MP3. While they were interesting, and pretty cool, because there was so many of them it got old fast. I still want to see more from the motion controls, as the IR function has practically been mastered now.

Yeah, I only play 360 now pretty much. The same thing happened, I beat all the "popular" first party titles and a few others and it got boring it sat untouched and my parents would always ask me why I didn't play it and then I told them and so I got a 360 for Christmas. Wii was kind of a flop to all the hardcore gamers, or at least a smack to the face or a kick in the crotch? xD

This is a tough one, because I fear there's not much to salvage the system. There's no reason to own a Wii if you don't play the controls, as the graphics are sub par, and first party titles can only appeal to a very small crowd worth getting a system over.

I truely don't know what could be done, and I regret saying that. As DaDallista pointed out, the Wii is likely to be a flop amongst the "hardcore" gaming community.

Why don't developers just buck up and make games that are truely revolutionary with the controls? That can be done. It went from pointing out the Wii's fault to claiming it's a worthless casual cause, with no hope for the hardcore gamer. I'm sure as time progresses, graphics will get better and better on the 360/PS3, while the motion controls get better on the Wii.
I don't have the time anymore to dwell on immersive games that take days to beat and Nintendo supplies me with quick on and off games that give me entertainment in a time frame. If people feel like Nintendo is depleting the quality of their games because of gimmicky controls they might be right, however Nintendo has realized that most people don't want to appreciate the time is put into their games when they see FPSs with tantalizing GRAPHICS playing a larger role for hardcore gamers. Give me a fast fun game and I can dig it.
That's good for you. But I'd hope the majority of Nintendo gamers (Casual gamers aren't Nitnendo gamers) would still respect real games.
i think there is room for both of us in the nintendo family

i do see the point that if owners dont go out and buy those more 'hardcore games' and instead buy the casual stuff in droves then that is all you are gonna get and that is sad

maybe nintendo needs hardcore third party exclusives like .... i dunno anymore...uh, whats the last good third party exclusive... FF?
RE4 *was* a third party exclusive. But it couldn't make enough money on Cube, so the port happened. MGS1: Twin Snakes was an awesome game, but I can't remember if Silicon Knights were second or third party.

Apart from that Nintendo aren't known for their amazing third party games. They are known for their first party titles.
i think they are trying, they just havent been overly sucessful...yet
Depends on what they're "trying" to do. If they're trying to retain long time Nintendo fans, they're not being successful.

If they're trying to attract new crowds, they're very successful.
i mean trying to support third party hardcore franchises

Phail

Instead of posting about my situation. I will just C&P A quick PM reply to Sc7.

"Anyways, I had my Wii for just under a year. At first I was so happy with the Wii, I had totally hyped the thing for about half a year before I owned it."

"I bought alot of games including Zelda, Mario Galaxy, Excite Truck, The Godfather, Big Brain, Red Steel, Monkey Ball. I really don't feel like going through every Wii game I owned. Anyways, slowly over time I was playing my Wii less and less. For example, when I first bought the Wii I was playing it for 11 hours sometimes. It was crazy, then as time passed I played it for a couple of hours a day. Maybe 5 hours if I was really into a game."

"But one day it suddenly hit me that I just wasn't satisfied with the line-up of games Nintendo had. Galaxy was a bit of a disapointment for me and Brawl felt a million miles away. Then I kept saying to myself, "Just keep waiting for Brawl". Then that day came around when Nintendo announced that Brawl wouldn't be coming to Europe untill atleast June. I was kind of left shellshocked with a sour taste in my mouth. I mean, I had been hyping Brawl for atleast a year before the Wii or so prior to Wii's launch. I was expecting Brawl the day the Wii was released, then it turns out it was delayed, then delayed some more. Now around 2 years later the game I desperately want is still around 4-5 months away. So Mario Kart alone wasn't going to keep me occupied untill Brawl arrives. Add that with the lack of great third-party games then that makes me an un-satisfied gamer."

"Then I turned to 360. Ever since I have lost more and more respect for Nintendo and their decision to leave "hardcore" gamers in the dark. Buying a 360 was the best thing I ever did."

Incase anyone tries to insult my obvious bad grammar in this PM. Its a PM! I didn't even check it. Smile
