In the latest issue of EGM, rumor hound Q-man got a really interesting tidbit from a mole at Microsoft: a secret first party sequel is already being worked on for the next Xbox console. According to the magazine, the game was originally planned for the Xbox 360, but was recently moved over to the next Xbox console.
It's not uncommon for platform holders to begin working on new consoles and launch games years before they actually come out, but this could point to the next Xbox console not being that far off.
So what sequel could it be? Hmmm... a new Halo? The next Forza? How about the next Perfect Dark? Oh, or maybe Fable 2? Kidding.

This is pretty interesting. Let's say that in a year or 2 a new system does come out...why would MS being making a new 360 SKU for 2008?

Hmm. Microsoft should take their time with the next Xbox. You all seen what happened when the 360 was released a year earlier than its competitors? RROD! I think at one point, hardware failure was over 20% atleast. Which is one of the reasons people are still on the fence about buying a 360. Like mentioned in another thread, reliabilty is a big factor for some people. Im also not sure wether the next Xbox will be coming first, I remember Nintendo making a statement that they was considering releases their next gen console before its competitiors.
Who knows, its just a matter of time.

i agree with you, microsoft should defenetly! take their time, and make the best possible console they can. i'de love to see microsoft make 1 version of their new next gen console.
no more, core, premium,eltie or whatever, all those happen because they didnt take their time, and now they are relizing that if they had of taken their time, they clould have released the xbox at the elite level. they wouldnt of had so many complaints for all those "red rings of death" diagnoses

I think the choices between which type of system you own will still be there next generation. I like having the choice between a Core, Premium and Elite. If the Elite was the only choice, I wouldn't own a 360. The Arcade/Core offers something to people with less money or just aren't into downloading content and playing over Xbox Live.

If Microsoft are releasing another console this generation with 320 GB. I wonder what they have in store for us next gen.

i dont think they could do it the vast majority dont have an hddvd drive and will get very upset and might HULK SMASH microsoft if they were to release only on hdvd hopefully they give choicd
I think MS should stick with the 360 and work the machine and keep pushing out good games. We all know from the last gen cycle that you don't have to have the most powerful system to be on top.
