WiiFit Is A Smash Hit
After less than a month on the market the exercise balance board, better known as Wii Fit, has surpassed the 1 million units sold mark.
"The package consists of the Wii Balance Board peripheral and software that simulates an exercise workout, using more than 40 types of training activities, as well as keeping track of a users BMI and other stats on a new Wii Channel."

The question is, will it sell that much here in North America
*sigh*
The beginning of the end?
Its Japan.
Nintendo = God 2 them.
Yea people in Japan love Nintendo, but I highly doubt it'll sell that much in that amount of time in America.
I'm buying it. <_<
I'm fat.
Am I the only skinny person in this world that isn't annerexic (sp?) Everybody i've met says their fat, man I need to GAIN weight!
im buying it...i wouldnt say im fat, but i ain't skinny. and i could use some body toning ^^
not that i'll be relying on WiiFit alone to get myself back in shape, but it'll who knows, it may make my body better suited to work out and prep it for my aerobics, step aerobics, and karate classes...in my dreams XD
now, im not talking for everywhere in the world...but i can bet that it'll sell really well over here.
I've seen it in person because they have the Japanese version here already and I was unimpressed. It sounded cool and all in the beginning but I'm not going to pay that much to stand on a block of plastic to do exercises. If some good games come out for it that use it well then I'll think about it. Right now it's a no.
I think it will sell in American as well as it did in Japan. Sadly everyone thinks they need to lose a couple of pounds, and since we never seem to be happy with the way we are...this is a new way to pretend it will make a difference when seeing a therapist would probably do a much better job
I really wish Nintendo would market this under a different category then their gaming division. Maybe even create a Wii Fitness brand, because this is not a video game, and as much as people want to pretend that the balance board can be used in so many other games...it probably won't.

You and me both. I'm 5'11" and weigh 115lbs.
oh, and it's spelled anorexic, FYI
Lol, I'm 5'5" I think, around there and I weigh 96 lbs, skinny.
I doubt that WiiFit will sell that well anywhere else because Japan are like obsessed with Nintendo. I'm still unsure whether to buy this game...does anybody know the release date and the price of it for the UK?
Off Topis: Nice thread zapasant, thanks for sharing! Repped!

i'm gonna get it, i mean i bought almost every other white plastic controller they put out why not

I agree w/ the "everyone needs to lose a few lbs" thing. That's prolly why American's will buy it. It's not like Japan, where Nintendo is cool, and we buy every Nintendo game that comes out because it's cute and cuddly. American's will buy the game, use it a couple times, and then it will prolly sit in the corner and rot jus like every other piece of fitness equipment we own.
