I have been meaning to watch The Office for a long time now. By "The Office", I am referring to the UK original version. Sadly I have yet to see it.
Recently on Paramount Comedy UK, the US version of The Office started showing every weekday, with double-bills from 10-11pm. When I first heard of The Office US, my first thought was "Oh dear gawd no, please don't let anyone else steal prized British charm and humor". Just for the heck of it I decided to watch it on Monday.
What do I think about it?
Friggin' Hilarious! I love it, thank you USA for making a series-port that is literally genius, and full of original characters. I'm hooked, and have been watching it since. I would encourage anyone who hasn't watched it to get off your ass and sit in front of the tube at the next showing! At first I thought Steve Carrell was quite boring with his character Michael, at least in comparison to Ricky Gervais' David Brent, but now I just love him for his pessimistic, yet content outlook on on life.
Favorite moments from the show (no spoilers as such):
- Getting talked out of firing an employee by the very employee himself xD
- The "who would you do?" game when the building caught fire
- This neighborhood is very gay friendly *wink wink*
- "In the workplace it's always good to show the employees that as their superior you can....... beat them up..."
- The Dundee Awards
