I've been leaving discs in my wii, which is standing vertically (like every wii photo we've ever seen) and I have been leaving my game discs in. No probs to report, but wanted to see whateveryone else was doing and if I should be removing them.

Thanks.
Hey! I've usually been leaving them in there especially as Firmware 3.0 as good as fixed the overheat problem.
leave em in. no problems yet, but i don't have WiiConnect24 on so mine doesn't get hot like most peoples

i didn't even know there was a firmware update to fix the heating. maybe i got it from Mario Galaxy and dont know it tho. very likely Toungue
Never leave discs in my 360/Wii/PS3/PS2/Xbox. Anything with a tray/slot. I used to leave them in top loading such as my GCN and PS1.
You shouldn't really leave them in, especially if you might not play it everyday. I have left mine in a couple of times but just for a day and that was because I forgot or was in a hurry.
nothing ever happened to my discs.
Mine stay in
i...always do? no matter what system...probably bad, but ive never had an issue with any of them. I just don't trust leaving GC games in my Wii because of the size...but i do leave Wii games in there >.>
I leave my discs in the wii.
I've only had my wii a bit over 2 weeks but have always left a disc in it, and I'm connected to wiiconnect24. (Speaking of which, someone please add me. I want to see that damn blue slot light once in my life.... I've put my info in the friend topic too. 7791 2042 6868 6999).
I'm yet to have any issues. The wii seems slightly warm to the touch, but no more so than a dvd player or some other similar electronics.

Well see. I may try and get better about taking them out in the evening.

Laziness usually prevails though....
I always leave the disc in my 360 and I used to leave my disc in my Wii (when I had one) Although I won't leave the disc in if im moving the console to someplace else..
I leave the discs in.
I usually leave them in, and try to remember to take them out when moving my wii, but I've taken 200 mile car trips with a disc in and experienced no problems. It's really shouldn't do anything to your disc, unless you're worried about it getting dusty, but then you'd have a whole new problem on your hand.
i try not to but out of laziness or forgetfulness i often leave em in
Your not supposed, but I usually do itf it's a game I know I'll be playing alot, then I'll just leave it in.
Does it actually hurt your disc when you leave it in for a while? I have never had problems. The only time my console is empty is if im changing disc.
I've never had any problems either and I'm always leaving my discs in my wii. In fact, I don't think my wii disk slot is ever empty.

It could, but I'm guessing the chances are slim. In the event a Wii were to be damaged because the disc was left in, then Nintendo or any other company wouldn't have to replace it, cause it's not to in the manual.

Well if the Wii isn't at all moving, then their shouldn't be any reason why it could damage the disc inside.

Well they still say if "can" be damaged when in standby and no one is playing.
