hrrrrr, i would love to see some more rpg's on the wii.......its my favorite genre and a very popular one at that. the only big one i've seen at all is fragile, and i know nothing about it....I've been very rpg-deprived lately. anyone else feel my frustration?
If you want good RPG's for next gen, get a Ps3.
But I got a 360, which has fairly good RPG's.
Lost Odyssey
Eternal Sonata
Blue Dragon
etc
Wii has a new dragon quest coming out..sometime.
Get a SNES. End of story.
But in all seriousness, Nintendo has been void of good RPGs since the SNES days(NO pokemon comments, please. It was ONE RPG. ONE with a million clones)... You'd be better off with a PS3. That's why I wanna get one

Hey guys, don't forget about the Sonic RPG coming out and the secret RPG that will be announced in the next EGM.
this whole buy another system just to play a good rpg is ridiculous. honestly, it would do a system good, if it could have good games from many different genres. why should i have to buy another system for one genre? dont you think its kind of stupid to say "i want to play a good fps, guess i'll have to get a 360"

Its more of, The Wii clearly doesn't have any games of the genre I most like, So I invested in something that had things I wanted.
And its true if you do want good FPS, then you have to get a 360. Lol no denying it.
Bioware's talent is being wasted on that Sonic RPG. Seriously, they should be doing something useful.
Buy an SNES + PSone for RPGs. The recent ones haven't too amazing.

yeah it is true, and that's what is so stupid. a good system should be well-rounded if they want to keep their fans loyal. they need games for all type of gamers, so we dont sit here saying "i should get a new system...i dont want to buy a damned ps3 or 360. i dont make enough money to just make that out of the blue choice.
Lol, take a look at my thread here and you will see what I'm talking about. If you want to play party games or casual games then the Wii has them in spades and good ones at that. If you want other kinds of games that you are mentioning you'll have to wait and hope or be lucky enough to muster up enough money to get either the 360 or PS3.
why do you guys keep saying that. yes, it's obvious, if you want a variety of games from a variety of genres, you need more than one system. I'm just saying, that is a stupid fact. there is no reason the wii couldnt have better shooters and more rpg's.
You're right, it is stupid but we can't change that. RPGs are also my favorite kind of game as well as Co-OP games. I'll keep my Wii but I'll save up and get either the 360 or PS3 as well. The third party publishers should put more effort into the Wii and make the graphics look as good as possible but they aren't going to do that as long as people keep buying what they are shoveling.
Every here is telling you to get another system for RPGs, but if you're patient you'll get your wish. Baroque comes out next month, NP or EMG hinted at a new RPG coming to Wii, there's FFCC: CB, Opoona(only controlled with nunchuck), and the new Tales of Synpnoia game. Of course out now is a Fire Emblem: Radiant Dawn, and there's probably going to be another FE games since RD is the equalivent to LoZ: TP ( still being a GCN game). PATIENCE

The Gamecube had the same problem, but the most of RPGS it did have were gems. Wii's install base is bigger, so you should more RPGs in it's lifespan than the GameCube had.
Wii has a new dragon quest coming out..sometime.
That's not a RPG, it's more of a First Person Sword game on rails...
Eh... there are a couple. You're gonna have to wait though.
I'm currently waiting for Baroque, Tales of Symphonia: Knights of Ratatosk, Fragile, and Final Fantasy Crystal Chronicles for the Wii. There are also a couple of classic RPG's on the Virtual Console you could buy, I personally recommend Breath of Fire II. Namco and Konami are making RPGs as well, and I've never been disappointed by them. Hopefully we'll hear more news about upcoming RPGs at the Game Developers Conference on Feb. 18. So until then, all we have are Fire Emblem: Radiant Dawn, and the Gamecube's old RPG collection. If you want, I could recommend you some Gamecube RPGs.

Btw, LMX how many hours do you have on FFXII For your PS 2
The Wii is not the best console for RPGs. Tales of Symphonia: Knights of Ratatosk should be good if the original is anything to go by, but other than that I can't think of any. My advice: get a PS2. They're dirt cheap and there's tons of good PS1/PS2 RPGs.

Blue Dragon couldn't be more average if it tried. And you forgot to mention Oblivion, which is almost certainly the best RPG on the 360.

I will try Oblivion, but it isn't my type of RPG.
Its freggin First Person still..
snes - super mario rpg. best rpg ive ever played in my life. and ive played alot, trust me. unfortunately softinx (however u spell it) made the game, not nintendo
Squaresoft made the game xD
SquareEnix now -_-; *Shakes fist at Enix*
And if you know you really like RPGs, why didn't you buy a PS3 in the first place instead of a Wii? PS has always been the home of RPGs.
FF-XII? I just passed the 130 hour mark after beating down Omega Mark XII and collecting the final badge for my shiny new "Wyrmhero Blade" or whatever its called. Now THAT is an RPG lifespan.
And its not the Wii's fault it has bad RPGs or not enough... actually it partly is. Mostly because of Nintendo's mistake back with the N64. Had they not mesesd up back then they would have Squaresoft who would come to merge with Enix. Where a lot of RPG's would continue to be pumped from, but they are in bed with Sony now and show no sign of giving us nothing more than pissy spin-off games.
