Lol, I think most people were enjoying the game, not worrying about the sequel.
If anything people were waiting two years since it was announced.

Uh... who's waited 6 years?
Uh...everyone?
Think harder dude, when was the last Smash Bros. game released?
Smash Bros. was announced E3 05, last I checked we're in 2008
Umm, this doesn't answer his question. He's been waiting for another Smash Bros since Melee was released.

Anyone who sees major opportunities for improvement? Speculation about online play seemed reason enough to start dreaming about a sequel (at least for Smash Bros fans).
In a month and a half, this thread/topic will be obsolete. No one will be angry with nintendo for delaying the game, but they could for other reasons. So vent and rant away!

Seriously, in the first weeks of melee, and your already thinking about ways to improve the game, then your not enjoying the game at all. Idk maybe you are, who am I to say.
And there was never any speculation of online with melee, reason being it was on GCN, and it only manage to put out one "online" game.

Lol, he said everyone was waiting since Melee. As if, everyone picked up Melee in their local game store and said "wow can't wait for the sequel." :p

Anyone who picks up a game thinking about the sequel needs their head testing... Ok everybody remember, when picking up Brawl. Think about how the sequel is going to kick its ass.
^-- that was a sarcastic comment
This is one of the stupidest things I've heard in a while. Ok how about 5 years and 8 months? Maybe I should add 6 days and 4 hours since I wasn't really finished with Melee until that time. Apparently it exceeds common logic to generalize to 6 years.
And who doesn't play a great game and say "I can't wait until the next."
No, you're dense because you can't grasp the simple concept that we have been waiting, consciously or not, for a new Smash Bros. game since we played the last Smash Bros. game, which was released 6 years ago. Are you telling me that no one is "waiting" and looking forward to the next Zelda game just because it hasn't been announced yet?
Anyway this is getting stupid. The point was, why is one more month such a big deal when we have already waited a substantially longer period of time for this game?
Oh and...
fixed for accuracy

Being exact doesn't make your argument valid.

why would you wait for a game that hasn't been announced yet? your setting yourself up for disappointed, but we'll let that be your problem.
