OK, I realize I am a noob, and apologize up front.
I have added (and been added) friends to my wii. However, when I go to send a message from the wii, it says "Confirming request" and doesn't let me type.
Does this mean the friends haven't actually added me?
I've plugged in their specfic wii console number, and they have done the same.
Just checking. Sure I am missing a step. Any guidance?
Thanks!
That's...... strange...
I've never heard of that happening.
"Confirming request"? What request?

The friends names will appear in grey/gray lettering/font in the address book until it is confirmed both parties have added them (in which case the lettering turns to black font). If the names are gray, check the wii numbers again on both consoles. If your names are in black on both consoles and you can't send and receive messages, you might have an internet problem (weak/sketchy signal). Try testing your settings on both consoles. If that doesn't work, try waiting a little longer. It seems to take some time for messages to be sent. You can also try sending a message to your own email addreess by adding it. I think the console email is: w(insert wii console number here)@wii.com
for example: w1234567891011121@wii.com
If you can't send anything after adding your own email address on the wii and sending an email to your wii as specified below, then I'd call nintendo.
I have successfully sent a test message to my wife's email, so I know it works. I'm assuming then, that the people that said they added me - may not have, in fact added me, or typed it in wrong. I doubled checked my digits.
Thanks crew. Don't know what I'd do without you cats.
sometimes it takes about 3-5 hours before you can actually start communicating with eachother on your Wiis.
why? I dont know, but it should be working soon
