Notes:
- Super Mario Galaxy surpassed Twilight Princess as the second best selling Wii game in America (after Wii Play).
- Speaking of which, Wii Play is the first Wii game to surpass 4 million sold in America.
- Despite being the best selling console in America, the Xbox 360 sold the fewest units worldwide last week.

*Wii debuts:
- Sonic Riders: Zero Gravity - 23,813 (#26)
I used to be sad on the off weeks that the Wii wasn't number one in the console spot. But now I dunno. I want the big N to do well, but I'd also like for sales to go down enough for them to realize that they've created a shovelware machine...
Nice to see Galaxy at the top again. And also, again, have you noticed there are no PS3 spots in the top ten? If I worked for Sony, I'd be rather embarassed.
I don't think there are enough people with a PS3 to be buying enough of a particular game to make it a top ten seller for a week.
The only concern is that Nintendo seems to be at a near standstill producing Wii's, and if they are intentionally holding back production to create hype, that's pretty damn sad/dirty. There still are a lot of people clamoring to get there hands on a wii, yet store shelves sit empty. I wouldn't say Nintendo is worried until they start seeing Wii's piling up on store shelves.

I'd rather the PS3 start picking up business. At this point, the 360 is clearly the dominant system game wise, but I don't want to have to buy both a 360 (for games) and ps3 (for movies). Oh well, I can wait and hopefully DVD holds on another 5+ years.
I think the standarad DVD will still be around for awhile so you have nothing to worry bout. It would be really awesome to see SMGto surpass Wii Play, but that's a ig gap in between the two.
Hmmmmm, I wonder what the Japanese chart sales are like at the moment. Can anyone disagree with me that the majority of the top ten games in Japan will be Nintendo games?
Most of their top ten titles or either Wii or DS, with one PSP title in the mix. SMG barely missed the top ten. Note the PSP title in the top 10 sounds like a Pokemon rip off...
1. Wii Fit (Wii) - 93,000 (1,005,000)
2. Mario Party DS (DS) 52,000 (1,493,000)
3. Wii Sports (Wii) -41,000 (2,633,000)
4.Wii Play (Wii) - 26,000 (2,120,000)

SMG is the game of the Wii, like Halo is to the 360. Wii Play is making large amounts of cash for Nintendo though...pretty strong for a mediocre game
The extra Wiimote is the only reason that game sells and it's pretty sad games with Wii in the title are doing better than SMG in Japan D:
great to see wii still on top!
I'm surprised rock band is where it is on the chart though because of price...

i guess good games sell! Big Grin

u dont even know how those numbers will sky rocket for wii when brawl comes out. nintendo will be more blind then ever at that time

Not necessarily-- the reason Brawl was delayed again was because there wasn't ENOUGH hype. I honestly don't think Brawl will be more than a hiccup as far as sales go. Maybe a slight boost for a few weeks, but casuals aren't gonna buy it as much as they'll shell out for Carnival Games and the like

The Brawl delay had absolutely nothing to do with lack of hype. Don't kid yourself, Brawl will sell like crazy. Melee sold over 6.5 million copies. I would be surprised if Brawl doesn't do the same or better when all is said and done.

wii for me Wrote:

why? are people holding out on getting a wii until brawl comes out? that doesnt really make sense since the cost of the console isnt much of an issue. the same people who like SMG, metriod, and zelda probably like brawl too.sales for the game will be really good, but i dont see the console sales go up because of its release... unless the game is bundled with the console.
