I watch a lot of movies, and I just recently started a subscription with Netflix and have their 3 movies at a time for $16.99 a month plan. Now just the other day something else happened which was pretty cool, I can now watch an unlimited amount of movies with my computer through Netflix also.
Now Apple is updating their Apple TV software, (which is good because it was originally very bad) so that people can get SD and HD movies. I've heard lots of people on TV talking about how amazing this is and Netflix had better watch out because here comes Apple.
Here's where I disagree....
Apple TV charges you $3.99 for SD and $4.99 for HD copies of movie. You get them for 24 hours and then they're gone. Now I don't see where that's such a great deal. With my Netflix service I can get 3 movies at a time, have them as long as I want. Thus far they have over 500 Blu Ray movies, and almost 400 HD-DVD movies and over 90,000 regular movies. Plus I can download an unlimited amount of movies per month and watch them on my computer.
So can someone explain to me why Apple TV is so great, and how it could possibly kill Netflix?
