I didn't recognize Link's FS being from SC2 and i was playing against my brother who main's link in SC2 and he didn't notice either.
I was playing SC2 as Link just the other day and I even went through all his moves to relearn the game and there's nothing in there that even comes close to resembling his FS.
That's because the move isn't in there, it's just copyrighted by NAMCO. Supposedly.
And I don't know why everyone is so pissed off about WW Link when we have ****ing R.O.B to deal with. Who wants to bet that WW Link is just Y. Link in a cel shaded style?
The "butterfly guy" known as "Taboo" has a slim chance of coming from Geist considering it was a first party Nintendo game but it was no where near a really quality title and isn't very well known. It's more than likely just a new character created specifically for Brawl.
Did you not just say ROB two seconds ago?!
Now with Wolf confirmed isn't it a bit much to have Fox, Falco, and Wolf? I think just two would've been fine considering now at least one of them will no doubt be a clone of another.
They're all clones sadly. 3 Foxes.

I did, didn't I? But if you think about it, Nintendo's slowly been inserting R.O.B into a bunch of its games that many people have come to know him. Not saying that justifies him being in Brawl.

You have got to be shitting me... This is a new low. Three clones?! Honestly!! Why the hell would we want three of essentially the same character?!
Yep... Fox, Falco and Wolf are all clones. Yay! Toon Link is a clone of Link. Lucario shares similarities with the dropped Mewtwo. Ganondorf still has a majority of Falcon's moves (their FSA's are simliar and it SHOULD have been ACTUAL Ganon. Not ugly, stupid beast from TP).
And yes, Metroid's are AT. But it needs more PC's from Metroid (ie. Ridley, no one else is needed beyond Ridley)

I was thinking about actual Ganon back in OoT and I think he just would've been too massive and never would've worked had he been shrunk down to Brawl size. And which Metroid characters aside from Samus and Ridley could you have made into PCs? I don't think the rival hunters or space pirates would've fit.
Lol, I was bored... but am I wrong?!

The Fox's I guess based on what you guys have said. But as far as the two Links go I believe they'll be distinguishable enough to not be called clones.
No, Toon Link has Link's exact move-set. He doesn't even have any of his unique WW or PH items. Its pretty lame.
If ANYONE is a clone it's WW Link. At least everyone else is debateable as "Luigified" but not him. He has the exact same moves as Link. He's just faster.

I thought he'd be Luigified.
I wonder what Nintendo's reasoning was behind clones in Brawl Melee in the first place.
How do you know WW link has the excact same moveset?
There is a video of him fighting. His moves are the same.

what about his bow, boomerang and sword? Those aren't Twilight Princess items...they're from WW and PH....
You are correct. His boomerang is from WW, it acts like Y. Link's boomerang in Melee. I think he uses Fire Arrows like Y. Link. And his sword moves are mapped to his WW sword like Adult Link's.
He's a clone. He's Y. Link inside Toon Link's body.
Oh but Cloud he made teh Subspace!
Also, does Subspace have ANY voice acting? Or this this another annoying "We don't want voice actors" Nintendo screw-up.
I mean, if Subspace is meant to be epic... not having voices kinda hurts that.

Well, after watching the Toon Link video, he's not EXACTLY the same as Young Link, technically--
Y'know how absolutely terrible Young Link's ^B spin attack was? How it sucked the enemies in, instead of throwing them 90 yards in the other direction? It looks as though Toon Link now even more closely mirrors Link in that respect, as his spin knocks back now.
And is it just me, or does his pogo sword no longer pogo, in exchange for a fast, pointed descent?
On the downside, Toon Link tosses a plain boomerang, where I was pretty sure I saw Link's boomerang whip up a small tornado every time he threw it in a gameplay video.
Essentially, Toon's a lot better than Young Link-- he's still a clone of them mashed together, but I at least can prefer him over Young Link at this point in time (seeing as how I have yet to actually play...).
Also-- Wolf being a clone is decent news. I was always better as Falco, and Wolf seems to be an improved Falco-- He's heavier than Fox, his blaster hiccups the foe, and his ^B recovery is the farthest amongst them without any charge delay?
That sounds wonderful.
I don't see why they just don't dump Fox.
So now the clones have gone from being Ryu/Ken SFII era to Ryu/Ken SFIII Era? I can live with that. They actually gave some of the clones different animations for regular moves to set them apart. Come to think of it, that's all SFIII was with Ryu/Ken/Akuma, and somehow these characters felt different enough in actual play.
That's a good point. I totally forgot about clones/close enoughs in other fighting games. Devil/Kazyua... Siegfried/Nightmare...
I never noticed/cared when actually playing Street Fighter that Ryu/Ken/Akuma were essentially the same character.
Man. Too many forwardslashes.
