i wouldn't care honestly if that meant he'd stay in brawl.
Most of the charcters already have unique movesets so im happy with the characters so far. We just need C.Falcon, Gannondorf, and sum others to complete the list. Of course the more characters the merrier.
I think they need another unique character from a U.S game that people reconize. I just can't think of a character...

When they cited Square Enix, I think they were referring to Mario's FS which came from the Super Mario RPG game. As for NAMCO apparently Link's FS came from SC2. Hopefully we see a Symphonia character though.
SC2 one of Link's special moves, I have to go back and look at that because I don't remember anything like his FS in there.
I didn't recognize Link's FS being from SC2 and i was playing against my brother who main's link in SC2 and he didn't notice either. I doubt Master Cheif cause everyone's tired of seeing him and the only person i think would come over from the x-box would be Ryu Hayabusa cause he was on a nintendo console back when, then again he's not american made.
What if they used a new character that is from a new game? Like say Johnny Touchdown from No More Heroes?? That would be pretty shocking I think but who knows. 48 characters would be great and as BrawlMario said, with Captain Olimar in this game anyone could get in.

Well he would be a third party character for Ubisoft. Ubisoft and Nintendo just started having a good relationship, so highly unlikely. He has a variety of moves with his beam katana in NMH, so creating a moveset for him would be a problem.
Let alone his final smash, it would be a bunch a slashes like Link's or Ike's.

What about a Rabbid from Rayman? I'd much rather see a Rabbid than Rayman because I don't find him interesting at all, even though he is the main character of the game. I think the people who play(ed) the 1st and 2nd one fell in love with the rabbids more than Rayman.
He's been corrupted by those zany raving rabbids so i don't know, i wouldn't mind a rabbids AT though, they'd come out and do something random like a tackle or through a plunger at your face or something, Rayman could be alright I guess.
True, a Rabbid AT does sound more reasonable and it just might be in there. Rayman is a possibility of being a character in the game but I just don't think he's big enough but then again I didn't think the Captain Olimar was either so...
