I'm seriously worried about this movie. I saw the preview and he is really showing his age in it. I said the same thing about Rocky Balboa too but I'm a huge Rocky fan so I couldn't resist it and he didn't look as old as he does in the Rambo preview.

Meh, if I feel like seeing a dumbed down excuse for a movie (ie. Action Film) then I'll probably check it out. But it seems like more of a rental.

well, this was re-written, directed, and produced by Stallone. he had an interview on the View (dont ask why i was watching that) that said a bit about his reasons for the remake, why there's SO much violence (and there is a reason beside overkill)...
although i didn't want to see it at first, just listening to him that day makes me want to see it to understand.

"I'm no hero... never was."
Complaints about Rambo being old? Guffaw!
I have a feeling this film will be more in the vein of the original Rambo; less outright pointless action, more focus on a theme. As for the violence, bullets do terrible things as they rip their way through the human body - I think the violence only serves it right.

Snake > Rambo.

Pass...even the commercial had only 1 critic saying how great the movie is. Stallone needs to be reminded how old he is and is it just me or does he become less and less understandable with age?
It's pretty clear that Stallone is desperate. When an actor or actress comes back to make another movie in a series decades after it's been done, then that should just tell us they have no where else to turn.

he's not desperate.
someone who wrote what went on Wrote:
Stallone said that his career has gone into a valley, but he wants to go out the right way. That is why he did a send-off for Rocky Balboa and now for Rambo, coming full circle. Joy joked that in 20 years he can do a Rambo in assisted living.
He would like to revisit films from the 1970s, like Charles Bronson films and re-do them. He said that people are critical about doing remakes, but there have been many remakes of Hamlet and no one says anything.
The new Rambo film is set in Burma. He said that there has been a 60 year genocide in Burma, but no one knows about it because they and China pay lobbyists to ignore it. He duplicated what he learned about that atrocity in the film. While he was filming in Burma he got a lot of death threats. He said that violence sells in movies if it has an emotional attachment.

then Bush cut in with his economic policy, so i never got to see the end of the interview.
Stallone is at the end of his acting career, and he's looking to move into the producer or director's chairs. Rambo will probably be his last acting gig unless he gets something from someone else. he put a lot into making this movie, and he's passionate about it. it's not just a desperate last-attempt.
edit: plus, i never listen to critics. they have their opinions, i have mine. and most of the time, i don't see things the same way 40 year old men do.

Exactly.
I'm seeing it tomorrow.

If Rambo is any indication, I'm looking forward to Stallone's career as a director. That is all I have to say.

This movie looks kick ass. 'nuff said.

At least he seems understandable in this film unlike Rocky.

Seriously though, this film does KICK A$$!!!
It is the best Rambo since First Blood.

well his teeth arent knocked out and his mouth/jaw isnt completely damaged from all the fighting in Rambo :3

That was a blood/gore fest. I don't think the "point" he was trying to make got across all that well. Thought it was less meaningful than the other 3, and that's saying a lot after part 2 and 3. Number 1 remains the best.

I'm undecided. The fact that I've never seen a Rambo film might work against me too. I like boxing, so I enjoyed Rocky Balboa.

pffft,
movies were startin to get soft anyways. all the best ones were made in the 80's and had blood packs and squibs popping all over the place.
roll on an older more grumpy Rambo
and the two sequels in the pipeline
haha
