Guitar Hero rakes in over $1 billion
The popularity for the Guitar Hero series has lead to many of it's games being sold. The hype for Guitar Hero has caused some major excitement and need for the game. In North America only, the franchise has managed to sell a heavy number of units; over 14 million to be exact, resulting in the series raking in over $1 billion. This is excluding all song downloads.
The latest title of the series Guitar Hero 3, which was released in October, has been so successful so far that it even managed to grab the top spot to be the best title in N. America for 2007. And many copies are selling still.
I have to say, I think the Guitar Hero franchise is far from over. I know many people are still buying Guitar Hero 2; and following the success of Guitar Hero 3 there is bound to be another version added to the series.
