So I just picked up the CE today but haven't had a chance to play yet...

Anyone else play it yet? Impressions? It's getting some pretty high marks, so I'm excited

One thing though... is DMC heavily story based? Because I haven't played any of the others and I'm scared to start this one for fear of having no idea what's going on and potentially spoiling the hell out of the first 3, which I think I'd like to pick up at some point. Should I wait to pick up the others, or just throw it all to the wind and jump right in?

The order the games are in storywise, is 3142. So DMC3 is the first part of the story, while the 4th is the 3rd. I picked up the CE today too, and didn't play it yet, because I just got home, plus I'm tired so I'm gonna go to sleep. What I heard though is that there are a lot of cutscenes so yeah...

I didn't realize that the games were released out of chronological order. In that case, I don't care! WHEE! Yay, this really makes me happy that I can just jump in! I also recall reading somewhere that Capcom was trying to make this one accessible to all audiences story wise, so that it should hold up on its own without needing to have played the others.

Now I just hope that DMC4 isn't hugely improved over the last ones so that I'll still want to play them (by which I mean, I hope the past ones are just as awesome)

I got the Collector's Edition the day it came out! I spent almost $100 that day and I was suckered into buying a strategy guide I didnt even use until I beat the game..

dude. never buy guides when IGN provides them for free.

Though I may end up getting a Brawl guide just because. Especially if they have a sexy hardcover special edition guide...

that is different, if it comes with special stuff like a poster or asoundtrack or the costumes [for cos playing[ then its worth it.

I would never beat a game twice in a row.

I did that with Gears--beat it on casual, then on insane

beat it my first time on human mode, played first mission on devil hunter wasnt that hard should have played it on devil hunter the first time. mind you this is my first DMC game from start to finish
