Europe has shown a lot of love for Nintendo
Nintendo Europe have released an update on Wii and DS sales and let me tell you, I think these numbers are pretty impressive.
The Wii has managed to sell an incredible 6 million units and the DS has managed to sell an outstanding 20 million units.
The top four selling Wii games combined have nearly sold a total of 6 million units. Wii Play grabs first place being the best selling game in Europe so far, after having sold 2.3 million units. Super Mario Galaxy and The Legend Of Zelda: Twilight Princess share joint second, both selling 1.3 million units each. Finally; the third spot goes to Mario Party 8 after selling 1 million units.
It seems the Dr Kawashima's Brain Training series still remains very popular with the first version, How Old Is Your Brain, selling over 5 million units so far. It's sequel, More Brain Training, also has it's sales climbing high after having sold a total of 2.8 million units.
However, the number one spot for the best DS game was snatched up by the largely demanding Nintendogs series. This game has really sent Nintendo's sales through the roof after selling a highly astonishing 8 million units!
New upcoming Europe titles due for release in 2008 consist of Super Smash Bros. Brawl, Mario Kart Wii, Wii Fit, and Professor Kageyama's Math Training: The Hundred Cell Calculation Method for the DS.
I have to say that I can definitely see Super Smash Bros. Brawl selling a very large amount of copies due to the high demand for it. I predict that this game will become the top seller in Europe, and worldwide for 2008.
