i may be the only one here who's excited for this game. for some reason i cant stand sim-golf games like tiger woods, but games like these are way too much fun. i played the hell out of mario golf on the gamecube. seems like it's also gonna have online, so im def. looking forward to checking that out.
ign shows a release date of march 08. (around the time rainbow 6:vegas 2 comes out. why?!!?!)

I'm interested in it, and curious as to how they'll use 6-axis crappiness in the swing. If Nintendo won't give me my Mario Golf with controls similar to Wii Golf, this could be an alternative.
aww man! i forgot about that! i hope you could turn it off.
Options are generally good.
I loved playing Hot Shots in the past but prefer Tiger Woods. I think the last couple of Tiger Woods games sucked due to the putting and the Wii version was terrible. I'm hoping that I can play this without using the six-axis motion and use the analog instead. I might pick this up if Tiger Wood's is terrible. I have the demo for TW so I'll try it before I decide.
preview from 1up:
As the series' fifth console game in 10 years (spanning three generations of PlayStations), Hot Shots Golf: Out of Bounds doesn't look to drastically re-imagine the formula; for better or worse, what we've seen so far clings fiercely to the straightforward mechanics that made the original a splash so many years ago, while embracing the incorporation of online play, and making sure to look just good enough to keep you happy.
If you've never touched a Hot Shots, you wouldn't know that the control scheme stands in stark contrast to Tiger Woods titles. In the Tiger series, your swings are purely analog, relying on the control stick and a fair bit of thumb magic to pull off good shots consistently; in Hot Shots, you're simply asked to hit the X button three times -- once to start the horizontal meter's cursor shooting towards the power setting, once more to stop it as close to the end as possible for full power (or stop short if you need less), and a final time to set accuracy on the other end of the meter. It's clean, comprehendible, and visually recognizable. Once you factor in the various types of spins you can put on any shot and start paying attention to the wind and lie of the course, you quickly realize just how deep this cutesy game is, and why the series is so beloved by fans.

i noticed it has a release date of april 15th now. im diggin that date!
I might pick this up. I have already picked up TW08 and I love it but it can be a bit unforgiving on harder settings. I prefer the analog swing go the three button press swing but that's just me. I'm still ok with the button presses though. I've heard that the Japan store has a demo of it. I might have to download it and check it out. I already have an account for the U.S. as well as another account in Asia that allows me to download more demos, themes, wallpapers, videos, etc.
This game is getting really good reviews. IGN.com gave it a 8.9.

This game looks really fun. I've been trying a lot of games I'd usually never try in the last year, and I'm loving them. MLB 08 the show, Hot Shots Golf, GT5, and Ratchet.
I'm looking forward to this. Games like golf are so tedious in the "pro" ea games, that these games are almost completely different, as they aim for fun play over realistic play.
I'm still waiting for the demo but it's not there for some reason and I'm too lazy to make a Japanese account just to get it.
