Nintendo's high flying console has been praised for the amount of units sold but on the flip side they has been criticized for lack of game sales, especially towards its market competitors.
During the festive holiday season in 2007 things turned themselves around in the Nintendo camp with the ratio of games to consoles being 8:1 which means that for every console sold there was 8 games sold (8.11 to be exact).
A impressive feat for the little white console known for its 'wand' controller. Poor game sales have haunted the console with many of its big titles barely scraping 2 million sales despite near perfect reviews.
Some of these new impressive sale figures are mainly thanks to
Super Mario Galaxy,
Wii Play and
Mario and Sonic at the Olympic Games.
The impressive holiday season brought up the Wiis total Games to console ratio to (4.64) 5:1. The market competitors Microsoft and Sony also had sale boosts with them earning 8:1 and 4:1 respectively.
With the Wiis ever increasing range of impressive titles quickly growing expect these figures to hit the roof!

The 8:1 ratio wasn't the only 8 - 1 news this week as we see the launch of a new set of peripherals.
If you haven't yet decapitated a parent or hurt yourself by playing the Wii purchasing this new 8 in 1 bundle will be the omen to set you straight.
The set includes; axe, a pistol, a scimitar, a sword, two daggers, and a shield. What's that? Only 7 listed and one of them isn't even a weapon?
Flop Alert.
The 8 in 1 bundles creator Dragon Electronics said that this product will be "amazing, exciting, fantastic and training body reaction."
Got a spare $30 dollars floating and about? Fancy taking realism to a whole new level? Then don't buy this.

Lol honestly they arent stopping anytime soon! Just crap after crap. Only good ones really seem to be the official Nintendo ones and those who buy this sh*t are usually parents getting it for there kids because they dont know any better.
The silly thing is. Most of the peripherals block the Wiimote cursor. So it just makes these stupid things even more stupid.
So these crappy periphs, besides sucking they actually block the sensor on the wiimote so that the sensor bar cant even work properly?

Correct. It seems like a repetitive thing now. How could the people making these pieces of garbage make such a massive design flaw?
Well i am unsure about other video game stores but at the Gamestop i use to work at my Manager wouldnt even put the Wii Blaster out on the floor because of how terrible it was. He didnt think it was right to sell to people and he knew that if they did sell he would have to deal with the return anyway later on.
The only zapper that appears slightly interesting is Nyko's pistol version.
it seems nintendo has a ways to go to catch the 360 attach rate but i do see this as a positive thing with loads of new games coming i can see it climbing into double digits
The Nintendo Wii saw a surge in game sales in December, with NPD Group reporting (via IGN) the software to hardware tie ratio for console reached reaching 8.11 for the month. That means approximately eight games were sold for every Wii console sold during the month. Top software sales for Wii in December include Mario Galaxy (1.4 million), Wii Play (1.08 million) and Mario and Sonic at the Olympic Games (633,000).
It should be noted that the 8.11 statistic doesn't reflect the overall tie ratio -- if 7 people who already owned a Wii bought Mario Galaxy and an eighth person bought Galaxy and a Wii, the figure still holds -- but it does boost the console's life-to-date tie ratio, now resting at 4.64.
The tie ratio for PlayStation 3 was 5.04 in December and 4.24 life-to-date, while the Xbox 360, with one year ahead of its predecessors, still holds the dominant position with 7.76 in December and 7.0 overall.
