Though there has been no official announcement by Epic Games or Microsoft about Gears of War 2, its always good to hear a good rumor or two.

The latest rumor has come up with some interesting information.

• Game Runs on Unreal Engine 3.5
• 4 New Weapons
• Twice as big as the original game
• Playable Air vehicles
• New Melee Combat Mechanics
• New action set pieces
• Outdoor environments to include battlefield wars
  

Also, there is supposedly a map codenamed 'Silent Night' which takes the player deep inside the Locust Stronghold. The map is expected to take 20-25 minutes to complete.

If all this proves to be true, GOW2 is going to be a more explosive and action packed adventure than its predecessor.

Even though I don't own a 360, it would be a great move for Microsoft to make a second Gears of War. I love playing Gears of War and I'll love it even more when I get my 360. I hope this isn't just a rumour.

Unreal 3.5, Modded UE always tend to be a lot better.

That's how the series has been. Create an engine, lend it out, use modified version of UT.

Gears of War 2! That will be the only game to stop me playing Gears of War 1. Yes people, 3 and a half months later, and it is still my most played game. 4 new weapons sounds reasonable. Flying vehicles sounds like fun also. I can't wait!

what the hell are "new action set pieces"? sounds like a sneaky way of saying, "now with more scripted events!"

all those new features also make the game seem a lot more like UT.

Well there was rumoured to be chainsaw battles in the original, but Microsoft made them remove it. So maybe they decided to add chainsaw battles in the sequel? Not too sure.
