Yeah i agree, just because they are girls doesn't mean they are less capable of reading a magazine like ONM.

Well I'm guessing alot of girls prefer the casual stuff over the average shoot em' up. I think dogs and cooking appeal more to most girls than big guns etc. So maybe females want a magazine based around the idea of casual gaming, which would explain Cooking Mama being the focus on the front cover.

This is true, but I think the audience for the magazine is for girl gamers who don't take gaming seriously enough to understand what's in ONM. It probably shows off alot of casual games, as Snake pointed out, like Cooking Mama and Zoo Tycoon etc.

Grr.. this is disgusting. I'm tired of this kinda marketing for girls! No self respecting gamer would read this junk, guy or girl; which is why they're making it free. Any real gamer wouldn't go out of their way to buy it, so if they include it in something that a woman or girl is likely to buy, like those women's magazines, they can market wussy Nintendo games to them that normal gamers probably wouldn't buy. I'll bet their next issue will revolve around those three DS games for girls Ubisoft released not to long ago.

its not for hardcore gamer girls...
fyi-its called pandering and the best marketers do it, like when (insert self described hardcore gamer here) grabs a 'hardcore' title with the next best FPS on the cover

no bashin on cooking mama! ]: my friends really enjoy it, and im actually considering trying it out
as for the cover, i don't like the girl that they chose for it; i just hope that it's not going to be stereotypical and just have things on casual, "girly" games, and will actually have sections dedicated to the more hardcore of us females. or just those of us that are more than just casual gamers...
